The Importance Of Eternal Life
Doing What We THINK It Takes To Win
The problem we all see is that we are in a world and living a life that looks like we can’t get out of. We have heard people say that life isn’t fair; and, most of us have accepted the “fact” that life isn’t fair. Many have become so frustrated with life that they have decided to fight back. If other people are going to cheat, steal, lie, mislead, and bully us, then we are going to START “fighting fire with fire.” If we have to beat, smash, and destroy the competition, then so be it. If this is what it takes to make it to the top, then that is what we will do.

Learning What It Takes To Win
Jesus has absolute power and yet He isn’t corrupted absolutely. If Jesus wants a lot of money, possessions, positions, power, prestige, popularity, pleasure, and accomplishments, He can use whatever means He wants to use. He can be as evil, selfish, corrupt, abusive, and tyrannical as He chooses; He is God, this is His universe, and we are His creation. Who can make Him be kind, loving, generous, and understanding?

Getting Ready For Life Now And After Death
In this next part, Jesus will be taking you through the issues of eternity as well as dealing with your current situations. Everyone is going to die; you need to see how to live your current existence in such a way that you are ready for life after death. AND, you need to see how Jesus lived His life and won! Let’s see if He can teach us His system that is TOTALLY different from those things the world taught us.

Getting An Eternal Perspective
Jesus is helping you learn how to live your life with an ETERNAL PERSPECTIVE. If you live your life without this eternal perspective, you will be like a student who doesn’t properly take advantage of the school’s programs. You will spend your time in school distracted, only interested in the present, wishing the training would get over so you can go have fun, and will refuse to engage in training for your future. You need to know what Jesus has prepared for your future so you can live life with that eternal perspective that gets you ready for your future.

Understanding This Life’s Purpose
You are in school; you are in Jesus’ life-classes. He has only given you a little bit of power so you won’t be able to do too much damage, if you choose to. You are finding out what kind of person you WANT to be. You are being challenged, tested, and tempted; the decisions you make as to WHO you want to be aren’t all about how much, money, possessions, positions, power, prestige, popularity, pleasure, or accomplishments you achieve. Jesus is watching to see what KIND of person you will decide to become; that is your life-test for time and eternity. Let’s see how Jesus lived His earthly life and see what He is looking for in you.
The Kingdom Is Only As Great As Its King
Jesus is developing a Kingdom; only those who qualify will be allowed in it. Just like we are being given an opportunity to decide whether or not we want Jesus and His Kingdom, Jesus is deciding who He wants to join Him in His Kingdom. As you go through this study, see if you like Jesus’ attitudes and character. If you do, the born again experience will give you the POWER to receive Jesus’ attitudes and character into you and your life; that will qualify you for Jesus’ Kingdom. .

1. Let Your View Of The King Change
Jesus said in Matthew 11:28 (NIV) “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Can you imagine a president, dictator, or king saying this to you? Jesus said in Matthew 20:28 (NIV) “The Son of Man (Jesus in his earthly body) did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” Does this sound like any kind of leader, boss, or employer that you have been under their authority?

2. Let Your Respect For The King Change
Listen to the difference between Jesus and a lot of the people you have been around. Jesus said in John 10:10 (NIV) The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. As you look back on all your experiences with people who have lots of money, possessions, positions, popularity, prestige, power, pleasure, and accomplishments, did any of them come to you so that you may have life, and have it to the full?

3. Let Your Identification With The King Change
Let’s say you like what you see in Jesus and do decide to make Him the King of your life. How are you going to be still living under the rules, laws, and influences of an unjust, corrupt, selfish, evil world? That is part of why Jesus came here as God, but allowed Himself to enter this world, just like you did. Luke 2:6-7 (NIV) While they were there, the time came for the baby (Jesus) to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped Him in cloths and placed Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. Does this sound like the kind of GOD you would imagine?

4. Let Your Attitudes About The King Change
Jesus, your heavenly Father, and the Holy Spirit are a different type of God than any of us could have possibly pictured. It matters to Jesus that you have been suffering. However, we lack the wisdom and mental power to understand what it is going to take to solve our earthly problems. But, if you will simply accept that Jesus knew what you needed, then you will be able to see a love for you that is unlimited. Rom 5:8 (NIV) But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. You may not yet understand why Jesus’ death was necessary; but, can you see a God that is better than you thought?
