The Benefits Of Spiritual Growth
Spiritual growth has many characteristics to it:
    You Start Getting The Victory
  • It helps you be able to get the victory over challenges, such as life issues, that are controlling your life.

Rom 8:37 (NIV) No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him Who loved us. The power and training that comes through Jesus helping you grow spiritually gives you victories that are supernatural.

Mat 19:26 (NIV) Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Phil 4:13 (NIV) I can do everything through Him Who gives me strength. Mat 17:20 (NIV) He replied, “Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Once you start yielding to Jesus, you get His supernatural abilities that make nothing impossible for you.

  • You Start Living Your New Life
  • It gives you a new life that is so wonderful that you never dreamed it was possible.

2 Cor 5:17 (NIV) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! Now that you have this new life; Jesus and the Holy Spirit are ready to empower you to learn how to live it to its fullest potential.

Rom 15:13 (NIV) May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. As you grow spiritually, you will be facing life with a whole new attitude. The power of the Holy Spirit will flow through you into every situation you face.

  • You Start Learning Jesus’ Principles
  • It is done in such an understandable way that you are able to learn and use it very effectively.

1 Cor 2:9 (NIV) However, as it is written: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him”--but God has revealed it to us by His Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. The Holy Spirit will explain the things of God to you so you will be able to understand the wonderful things God has prepared for you. He has a life for you to live here on earth that will be great and wonderful; and, it will count for eternity.

  • You Start Developing A Strategy
  • It is done in such a systematic way that you are able to share the process with others.

2 Tim 2:15 (AKJV) Study to show yourself approved to God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. The Bible will give you God’s truth in a progressive way. Each thing Jesus teaches you will be able to get you ready for the next great truth. You will grow spiritually by moving upward as Jesus’ truths raise you higher and higher.

  • You Start Living A Transformed Life
  • It helps you be so transformed that you and the people around you are blessed by your life.

1 Tim 4:15-16 (NIV) Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers. People will only want what we have if they see things they have always wanted. You are helping people see what Jesus is capable of, if you yield to Him and His Word.

1 Pet 2:12 (NIV) Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us. Even those who resist us must see what Jesus can do to a life. Many start out resisting; but, Jesus can melt that resistance by transforming our life in front of them.

  • You Start Constantly Living In Victory
  • It will protect you from failing at life, getting knocked out financially, damaged emotionally, misled philosophically, cut off relationally, or debilitated physically.

Eph 6:10-12 (NIV) Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. As you grow spiritually, Jesus will teach you and empower you to deal with your earthly issues by being powerful in the spirit realm. You will stop trying to manipulate things and people and start using your spiritual tools to win at life.
Spiritual growth is going to make the difference in what kind of results you are going to experience personally and in helping others succeed.
Six Powerful Steps To
Living Victoriously Over Life Problems

Spiritual growth has six issues that have to be dealt with:
  1. Study One: STRATEGY – You must have a Biblical plan for growing spiritually and living victoriously.

The Holy Spirit will guide you into a Biblical strategy: John 16:13-15 (NIV) But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to Me by taking from what is Mine and making it known to you. All that belongs to the Father is Mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is Mine and make it known to you.

  2. Study Two: SUBMISSION – You must have the right things constantly being allowed to enter into your life.

The Holy Spirit will empower you to submit to God’ law: Rom 8:6-7 (NIV) The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so.

  3. Study Three: RESISTANCE – You must be resisting wrong things you were regularly allowing to enter into your life.

You and the Holy Spirit will resist wrong things you were regularly allowing to enter into your life; this will give you a powerful life of freedom: Rom 8:13-14 (NIV) For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if BY the Spirit YOU put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

  4. Study Four: PURIFICATION – You must must get rid of wrong things that are already in your life.

The Holy Spirit will point out those things that are wrong in your life: John 16:8 (NIV) When He comes, He will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment.

The Holy Spirit will help you pray and get them removed: Rom 8:26 (NIV) In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And He Who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.

  5. Study Five: PREVENTION – You must prevent wrong things that are trying to get into your life that you never wanted in there but didn’t have the power to keep out.

The Holy Spirit will empower you to hate these things: Gal 5:19-21 (NIV) The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery (excessive indulgence in sensual pleasures); idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

The Holy Spirit will give you these things as replacements: Gal 5:22-23 (NIV) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

  6. Study Six: PROTECTION – You must protect others who aren’t able to protect themselves. Luke 6:38 (NIV) Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

The Holy Spirit will empower you to share Jesus with those who don’t know Him: Acts 1:8 (NIV) But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

The Holy Spirit will give you a special message for each individual who doesn’t know Jesus: 2 Cor 5:20 (NIV) We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.

The Holy Spirit will give you a powerful message that will transform lives: 1 Cor 2:4-5 (NIV) My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power.

The Holy Spirit will help you love your neighbor like you love yourself: Rom 5:5 (NIV) And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out HIS LOVE into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, Whom He has given us.
