There are some very important things you need to know about Jesus. Jesus is God, your heavenly Father is God, and the Holy Spirit is God. There aren’t three Gods; even though Jesus, the Father, and the Holy Spirit are three persons, they are so united, so in agreement, and so one that they actually make up one God. They do different things, they have levels of position, and they have a relationship with you that is different; but, you are only serving one God. Mark 12:29 (NIV) “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.

Jesus doesn’t want you to be confused and lost over the complex make up of Jesus, the Father, and the Holy Spirit; so, let’s just let Him take us where He wants us to go. You will gradually see certain things about your heavenly Father that will help you understand Him better. Jesus will be helping you get acquainted with Himself, the Father, and the Holy Spirit. But, one thing you need to keep in mind: Isa 55:8-9 (NIV) “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.”

Your first step into a relationship with God is for you to learn ABOUT Him. Learning about Him is just theoretical; your next step is the best one; you will be experiencing more and more OF God. You must learn some things ABOUT God; but, you won’t have to be satisfied with that; you and He will establish a relationship that will be personal and real. Even though God is more than you have the ability to know all about, your first step of getting to know Him is to know He exists.

Rom 1:18 (NIV) The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness. There are people who claim to be atheists; they claim to believe there is no God; they try to prove that all the incredible things you see out in the universe and all you see around you on this earth, and all you see about your body came into existence accidently through evolution. However, GOD says He created them in six days; and, He says He created the heaven and the earth before that.

Rom 1:19 (NIV) Since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. Anyone who wants to can go out into the world around them and see that it took incredible power and intelligence to come up with the idea, develop the plan, and put together the planet and the life on this planet. Starting from nothing, God invented everything you see. You can easily see that all the lifeforms on this planet have gaps between them. They didn’t gradually evolve and mutate from one lifeform to another. Each specie stands alone with a huge gap between them and all other species. All the trees, bushes, grass, animals, fish, birds, bugs, and reptiles have huge gaps between them. God created them just like He said He did. But, He allows you to believe whatever you want.

Rom 1:20 (NIV) For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities--His eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. The dating process that humans use to try to determine how old the planet and the universe are, fails to take one important thing into account. Just like Adam and Eve could have “appeared” to be quite a few years old RIGHT AFTER being created, so was the heavens and the earth. The trees would have had rings in them indicating they were many years old RIGHT AFTER creation. The earth would have oil, strata layers, fossils, and many evidences of being very old RIGHT AFTER creation.

Rom 1:21 (NIV) For although they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. There has been a moment in your life where God revealed Himself to you. There was a moment when you were looking up into the sky or at some aspect of God’s CREATION and it spoke to you. All of a sudden you KNEW God existed; but, atheists, agnostics, and secular humanists started presenting their wickedness to you. The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness. However, they probably did some extensive damage to you.

Rom 1:22 (NIV) Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools. All the atheists, agnostics, and secular humanists that you meet knew God exists. There was a moment in their life where God’s creation spoke it into their heart. Rom 1:19-20 (NIV) Since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities--His eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. They may be fools now; but, everyone of them KNEW GOD AND HIS invisible qualities--His eternal power and divine nature.

Rom 1:21 (NIV) For although they KNEW God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. You may have tried to make a deal with these “scientists” by saying that maybe God used evolution as a part of His creation. BUT, if we make one aspect of the living creatures on this planet extinct, it puts the whole planet in jeopredy. The existence of each specie is interdependent of all the others. They are like the working components and parts in your car or your body. When God said He did each thing in a day, He did it in a day. But, it is up to you as to whether or not you believe in the incredible power of God or the foolish ramplings of atheists, agnostics, and secular humanists.

Heb 11:6 (NIV) And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him. You may believe that the universe, this planet, and all the living things on it have an intelligent design. You may believe there is A god; but, if you don’t believe in THE God, you will fail God’s test. The more you can see that God is so intelligent and powerful that He created all these living things in six days rather than six billion years, then more you will be able to get to know Him.

Heb 11:6 (NIV) And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him. If God is going to be God in your life, then you are going to have to get to know Him. You are going to have to know the truth about Him; you are going to have to allow Him to show you Who He is, what He can do, and what kind of God He is. You need to learn His knowledge, His foreknowledge of the future, His understanding, His wisdom, and His power.

Eph 1:17 (NIV) I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, SO THAT you may know Him better. You are only going to grow spiritually in those areas where you DON’T limit Who God is and what He is willing and able to do.

Eph 1:18-19a (NIV) I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened IN ORDER THAT you may know the HOPE to which He has called you, the RICHES of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and His INCOMPARABLY GREAT POWER for us who believe. These things may not have the impact on you that they will as you yield to sanctification and start growing spiritually. BUT, the answers to this prayer that is being prayed for you will help you get these things and become real to you.

Eph 1:19b-21 (NIV) That POWER is like the working of His mighty strength, which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. As you can see, we all have a lot to learn about how powerful God is. And, we all need to allow this intelligent, powerful God be God in our life. If we do, we will not limit Him or keep Him from working miracles and supernatural things in us, for us, with us, and through us.
