Once we have allowed Jesus to help us get rid of those things that have been hurting us and preventing us from being successful in life, we are ready to learn how to keep wrong, bad, and evil things out of us and our lives.

Jesus has provided us with powerful protective spiritual equipment. It guards and protects us from things trying to get into us and our lives. There are six protective pieces of powerful equipment that are laid out like armor. But, they are made of the material Jesus has provided us. Rather than some kind of metal, they are spiritual material that can’t be penetrated by the missiles of wrong, bad, and evil coming against us.

Jesus told us that if we learn what the truth is, it puts us in a possition to be set free. Now we are being taught that the truth can not only set us free from those things that bind us, it can keep us free from those things that are trying to get in to bind us.

Righteousness is us only doing good to ourselves, other people, and God’s plan. Jesus used righteousness to crowd out the unrighteous things in our heart, our mind, and the behavior of our lives. Now He is going to teach us how to use righteousness to keep the unrighteous thoughts, feelings, words, and deeds out of us.

In these courses Jesus continues to show us what protection can do for us. There are four more areas of our life that need protection. We need protection over our feet so we will only go where we will get the very best for us. We need protect that can be moved around in our lives so we can defend ourselves in any direction. We need protection in our mind so we won’t be susseptible to thoughts and feelings that confuse and mislead us. And, we need protection through an ability to attack things that are trying to defeat us.

We have gone places where we shouldn’t have gone. We have walked into situations that once there, we couldn’t get out of them. We have been pushed into places where we didn’t want to go. Now Jesus is giving us the training and power to be able to resist and win over temptations, pressures, and lies that would have fooled us. These shoes will give us the power to not only resist going in the wrong direction, we will have the power to go in the directions that are the very best for us.

Like the shield that warriors used in Roman times, we have a piece of armor that can go on our arm and shield us from all kinds of missiles that are trying to penetrate our defenses. Our spiritual shield of faith can be moved into any area of our lives where we are being attacked. It is the armament that is mobile and beneficial for all areas of our lives. Jesus is training us for how to use it to its best capabilities.

Our heart and mind are the control center for who we are, what we think and feel, and where we exercise our God-given free will. If this area is vulnerable, we can be damaged in a great and terrible way. Satan’s greatest desire is to infect our heart and mind. In this course, Jesus teaches us how to get and keep the helmet of salvation on. This will help us maintain our identy, free will, and join Jesus in plans for our future.

The shield of faith and the sword of the Spirit are the only movable items in our armor. Jesus will do a lot of work in this area so as to help us get great skill, expereience, and abilities in moving them into the proper positions. The sword is our ability to go beyond defence and literally attack those things that are trying to hurt us. It is empowered by the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. In this course, Jesus will be leading us into ways of attacking the enemies of our life.
