Jesus is ready to take the methods, systems, and strategies that He has set up for you and empower you to overcome your addiction issues. The things He has taught you so far, you have been praying and asking Him to put into your life. What you have just experienced through the Strategy Courses is different from the study systems you are used to. These studies are spiritual food. You may not remember what you ate yesterday; but, you don’t need to. When you allowed that food to enter your digestive system, it started doing what it was suppose to do. This is what has happened and will continue to happen as Jesus takes you through these courses.

Food has materials that are used to build the cells in your body. It also has energy or power from the sun. You don’t have to remember what you ate, you just have to eat it. Spiritual food has materials that build you up spiritually and it has Jesus’ power in it. You may not remember much of what you have read and prayed for so far; but, because you read it and prayed for it to do its work in you, it is in you building you up and helping you yield to Jesus and His power.

Mat 18:1-4 (NIV) At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” He called a little child and had him stand among them. And He said: “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Jesus will be dealing with your willingness to be taught and empowered by Him.

You AREN’T going to agree with the Bible and Jesus. You have beliefs, opinions, principles, and systems that you have BASED YOUR LIFE ON. You really believe in those things you have put your trust in. You are invested in things that Jesus is going to refute, disagree with, talk against, and require you to replace. He will be using the Submission Courses to take us humans and help us learn to disagree with ourselves and accept things that are totally opposite of what we have based our lives on.

Rom 3:22-23 (NIV) This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Pray and ask Jesus to help you see why you have embraced wrong, bad, and evil things. He is willing to take you through these Submission Courses while helping you understand the reasons behind His teachings. As you ALLOW Him to help you see why you need these new things in your life, your relationship with Him will grow. You will see how wise, gracious, and loving He is. You will learn to trust Him with more and more of your life.

You won’t mind joining Jesus in resisting things you don’t like coming into your life. BUT, this isn’t what these courses are all about. Jesus will be asking you to join Him in resisting things you regularly allow to come into your life. After you have completed the Submission Courses, if you allowed Jesus to show you wonderful things you needed to submit to in those courses, it will help you see what He is capable of providing. Once you have completed the Submission Courses, you will need to pray and ask Jesus to help you look back at all the wonderful things He helped you to submit to. You will need to ask Him to help you see that you would have never submitted to them if He hadn’t helped you see all their benefits.

Many of the things you submitted to during the Submission Courses crowded out some of these things you are now starting to resist. Jesus will use the Submission Courses to expose you to better, more wonderful, and more supernatural things than what you, the world, and the devil can provide. He will use the Submission Courses to help you see things you didn’t even know were options for you. As you enter into Jesus’ world, you will be given opportunities that will be far better than the choices you were given in the world.

There are things, relationships, jobs, commitments, contracts, habits, addictions, and lifestyles that have already settled in. You didn’t come to Jesus like a blank slate just waiting for a way to live. You have been actively involved in “living life.” Unless Jesus can help you get detached from some of these things that have become a part of your life, Christianity won’t help you much.

The things Jesus will add in the Submission Courses, the things He will help you resist and block off in the Resistance Courses, and the things that He will want to remove from your life in the Purification Courses will be miraculous. Before all these things Jesus does through these courses happen to you, you life will typically stay like it was before salvation. Your record with God is clean and pure; you are a child of God, a member of His family, and a citizen of His eternal Kingdom. BUT, there are a lot of things that you allowed to attach themselves to your everyday activities. It will take the supernatural power of Jesus to detach these things from you.

If you are attacked by some temptation that is wrong, bad, or evil, before salvation and justification you didn’t have Jesus’ power to resist it. After salvation and justification you got Jesus’ power to resist all the wrong, bad, and evil things that were coming against you; but, you didn’t have the training, knowledge, and skills to cooperate with Jesus’ power. Jesus will use the Prevention Courses to train you in on how to keep wrong, bad, and evil things out of your life. Rather than them getting in and you having to repent, apologize, make things right, and try to do better next time, Jesus will help you get your spiritual armor on and help you win.

A life of prevention is so much better than having to go back and clean up the mess. As Jesus takes you into the Prevention Courses, you will be able to think, feel, say, and do the right things in the first place. Jesus will use the Submission Courses to help you get on the same page with Him. He will help you see that His way is the best way for living life. In the Resistance Courses, He will help you see why He labeled certain things sins. He will spend time showing you the LONG TERM result of things that start out looking okay to you. In the Purification Courses, He will help you see that none of the wrong, bad, or evil things that are attached to you are more powerful than He is. Once you have received all this training, healing, and blessings from Jesus, you will be MUCH MORE cooperative with His will for your life.

It won’t take you long to learn that it is more blessed to give than receive. Acts 20:35 (NIV) In everything I [Paul] did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” However, you can’t give what you don’t have; you have to experience and live it yourself before you can share it with others. Giving will end up giving you a greater blessing that the one you got when you received it; but, we are hypocrites if we try to teach something we aren’t living ourselves.

Luke 6:38 (NIV) Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. People who stand outside watching your house burn down may not have done anything to cause it; but, if they haven’t properly trained, they can’t do anything to stop it either. When the fire fighters arrive, they are so much better than spectators. They had a lot of training and experience to get; but, they “did what it took” to come help you. Your victories in your life will gradually become other people’s victories, as you share.
