Committed To The Work Of God
Power To Fulfill Your Commitment
Exo 35:30-31 (NIV) Then Moses said to the Israelites, “See, the LORD has chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and He has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts. The Temple of Meeting is about to be built. It has very specific specifications that MUST be followed. God is giving certain ones special skills to accomplish this job.

If you will allow God to give you special skills to do the work He has called you to do, the Holy Spirit will empower you with special gifts. You will be able to do supernatural things that you would have never been able to do on your own. As those special gifts start influencing you, you will find that they can literally change your life in a wonderful way.

Committed To Train Others
Exo 35:34 (NIV) And he has given both him (Bezalel) and Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach others. God is willing to use many people to spread the message of His good news. But, they can’t just go out untrained and without the Holy Spirit. He wants to use you to learn the things of the Word of God, to apply them to your life, and then do the same with others. This is the way the mighty move of God takes place.

Your Commitment Inspires Others
Exo 36:2-3 (NIV) Then Moses summoned Bezalel and Oholiab and every skilled person to whom the LORD had given ability and who was willing to come and do the work. They received from Moses all the offerings the Israelites had brought to carry out the work of constructing the sanctuary. And the people continued to bring freewill offerings morning after morning. As you commit yourself to the work of God and resist temptations to quit, other people will join you and contribute those things they have to offer.

Your Commitment Brings Unity
Exo 36:8 (NIV) All the skilled men among the workmen made the tabernacle with ten curtains of finely twisted linen and blue, purple and scarlet yarn, with cherubim worked into them by a skilled craftsman. It is a beautiful thing to see God work in and through His people. So many things can happen such wonderful things are produced as everyone contributes. No one person would be able to do such a beautiful work by themselves. But, as many work together in unity, fantastic things come out of that move of God.

Committed To The Right Project
Exo 38:24-26 (NIV) The total amount of the gold from the wave offering used for all the work on the sanctuary was 29 talents and 730 shekels, according to the sanctuary shekel. The silver obtained from those of the community who were counted in the census was 100 talents and 1,775 shekels, according to the sanctuary shekel--one beka per person, that is, half a shekel, according to the sanctuary shekel, from everyone who had crossed over to those counted, twenty years old or more, a total of 603,550 men.

If you find out where God wants you, and if you join Him in that work, you will see Him move in you and in others in a mighty way. God was the creator of this project. God was the orchestrator of the plan. God was the designer of the way it was done. And, God was obeyed to the letter. If you are committed to a “work of God” that God didn’t originate, you need to ask Him what to do about it. If things have stagnated, diminished, died, or become nonproductive, you need to see if you are committed to the right work of God.

Commitment Produces A Job Well Done
Exo 39:42-43 (NIV) The Israelites had done all the work just as the LORD had commanded Moses. Moses inspected the work and saw that they had done it just as the LORD had commanded. So Moses blessed them.

People who are committed to God and resist the things of their body, the world, and the devil--do what God instructs.
  • They don’t have conflict in their heart.

  • They aren’t always leaning in the opposite direction.

  • They don’t have problems cooperating with others.

  • They don’t struggle following orders.

  • They do good, reliable, professional, and beautiful work.

  • They are at peace with themselves, other people, and God.

  • Ask Jesus to help you be one of these people.

Each Person’s Contribution Produces A Whole
Exo 40:1-2 (NIV) Then the LORD said to Moses: “Set up the tabernacle, the Tent of Meeting, on the first day of the first month.” All this work that had been being done had only produced parts that went in or became a part of the Tabernacle. But, it is like you; you are doing something that God needs produced while someone else is working on something else. When God puts it all together, it results in an incredible and mighty work of God. Your part may be small and seem unimportant. But, when you see where it fits with everyone else’s work, you will be impressed with what God did through you.

Committed To Doing What You Are Told
Exo 40:16-17 (NIV) Moses did everything just as the LORD commanded him. So the tabernacle was set up on the first day of the first month in the second year. What would have happened to the Tabernacle if someone decided they didn’t want to do it the way God said? God would have had to find someone else to do their job. Everyone had to do it the right way; or, it wouldn’t have fit and worked with everything else. As you commit to totally obey God, other people are doing the same. It will only be the totally committed that will ultimately be used to fulfill the work of God.

God Blesses The Work Of The Committed
Exo 40:33-34 (NIV) Then Moses set up the courtyard around the tabernacle and altar and put up the curtain at the entrance to the courtyard. And so Moses finished the work. Then the cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. All the work that everyone is doing in cooperation with God is just the mechanical work. If Christians follow God’s instructions in the Bible, all the work of God gets done just like God wants it to. But, all that work was done so God could bless it with His power.

Once you have committed yourself to obeying God and resisting anything that is contrary to His will, you can produce a path for the mighty work of God. What you did wasn’t the work of God. It was the avenue through which God did His supernatural work.

It is like constructing a house. If it was built like the owner wanted it, then it will meet their needs. But, if it wasn’t then the owner can’t do what they wanted to with the house. You only serve God’s purpose when you listen to Him and commit yourself to obeying His instructions.
