1.  Let us fix our eyes on Jesus. This isn't just a matter of using Jesus as our example. It isn't just saying that we should see what Jesus did and PATTERN our life after Him. When we fix our eyes on Jesus, we get a lot more out of it than a good historical example. As we have already said before, Jesus IS our ministry. Now that we have made Jesus the Lord of our life, we live but it really isn't us living it (Gal. 2:20).

At least that is what is available to us. Because of the gentleness of God that CAN happen to us; but, it doesn't HAVE TO happen. It doesn't AUTOMATICALLY happen. We have to do what it takes for it to happen. The moment we "fix our eyes on Jesus" is the moment when our dependency shifts from us to Him. He starts to empower us to do the right thing with the people around us by living through us. All we have to do is yield to His wishes and His power.

As we face a ministerial assignment, the issue isn't what WE can do. The question is, what is JESUS going to do? As a person with a serious problem came to Jesus asking for help, the whole crowd's eyes were on Jesus. Once the person expressed what their need was, everyone started wondering what Jesus was going to do to respond to the request. That is the place we have to be. Right in front of us is a massive need. All eyes are on us. Everyone is wondering what we are going to do about it. Our eyes must not be where everyone else's eyes are. WE aren't going to be able to do ANYTHING about it. We must have our eyes FIXED on Jesus. We must be wondering what HE is going to do about it. Sure He is going to be using our body. However, we aren't going to be able to provide the God-sized answer to the need. If we will keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, He will be able to move through us with the supernatural answer to the problem.
