When you look at an animal, you will see that it has survival drives. It will do its best to get the food it needs, the protection it needs, and the position it needs. Depending on the type of animal, its methods of survival are either devious or aggressive. Different people’s bodies approach these survival procedures like different kinds of animals, if not brought under the fruit of the Spirit. Your body has certain characteristics that, if compared with the large variety of animals on the planet, will demonstrate one type of procedure or another. You may not be allowing it to freely exercise these procedures; but, if left to its own devices, it will.

Your body has procreation drives; these sex drives are also handled from an animalistic level, if not controlled. But, there are civilized approaches, spiritual approaches, and animalistic approaches. While using a certain amount of being civilized, here are the types of animalistic things your body wants to do: Gal 5:19-21 (NIV) The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery (excessive indulgence in sensual pleasures); idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Rom 7:22-24 (NIV) For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; But I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? If you are currently finding yourself living like Romans 7:15-24, then you need Jesus to show you, a spirit being, how to start winning over your body. He has some power-emotions for you, a spirit being, that help to overcome the drives of your body. Gal 5:22-23 (NIV) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Rom 8:16 (NIV) The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. The Holy Spirit is talking to you directly as a spirit being. The reason you know all these things in the Bible belong to you is because the Holy Spirit is telling you, you are God’s child, a member of God’s family, and a citizen of His Kingdom. You know you have inherited God and all He provides. Rom 8:17 (NIV) Now if we are children, then we are heirs--heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in His sufferings in order that we may also share in His glory. All the promises and provisions of God are yours.

1 Cor 6:19-20 (NIV) Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, Who is in you, Whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body. You, a spirit being, are no longer alone; you have God, the Holy Spirit living inside you. As a spirit being, you can cooperate with God, the Holy Spirit and have the power to do things you were never able to do before. Prior to the Holy Spirit joining your spirit, your body was the dominate entity. It was able to make you a prisoner. But, now your spirit has the power of the Holy Spirit to take advantage of.

Rom 8:13-14 (NIV) For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. The sinful nature is in your body; the Holy Spirit is also in your body. But, He is inside you to help and empower you to take control over your body. Your spirit can take advantage of the Holy Spirit’s power and put to death the misdeeds of the body. It is a choice on your part: but IF by the Spirit YOU put to death the misdeeds of the body. First, you have to want or DESIRE to use the Holy Spirit’s power. Second, you have to STUDY and learn how to use the Holy Spirit’s power.

John 16:13 (NIV) But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come. The Holy Spirit ties you directly to Jesus; your spirit and the Holy Spirit are connected directly to all Jesus is. Just like your phone helps you communicate with people who are far away from you, so does the Holy Spirit connect you to Jesus. But, He does it in a very real and personal way. He gives you a communication connection with Jesus that is on a Spirit-to-spirit level.

John 16:13-15 (NIV) But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth. He will NOT speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to Me by taking from what is Mine and making it known to you. All that belongs to the Father is Mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is Mine and make it known to you. Just like your phone doesn’t speak on its own, He will NOT speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears. It will be like Jesus is right there with your spirit. You and Jesus will speak Spirit to spirit in a spiritual language that is much more powerful and efficient than human communication.

Rom 8:26 (NIV) In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans that WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS. You have the mind of Jesus: 1 Cor 2:16 (NIV) “For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ. Your mind of Jesus is tied to Jesus’ mind; you and He can communicate by you knowing, seeing, feeling, and understanding something He wants you to EXPERIENCE. Without words, you will suddenly know, see, feel, and understand something directly from Jesus through the Holy Spirit. It will be just like you experienced it in real life.

1 John 2:27 (NIV) As for you, the anointing you received from Him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as His anointing teaches you about ALL things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit--just as it has taught you, remain in Him. These studies are useless without Jesus using them to teach you through the Holy Spirit. It isn’t what these words say that matters as much as what you get out of them. If they try to give your spirit words that set you free; but, your spirit can’t hear, understand, and yield to them, then you get cheated. Mark 4:9 (NIV) Then Jesus said, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” These study words must be used by Jesus to teach your spirit. AND, your spirit must have ears to hear.
