John 3:2 He [Nicodemus] came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi [teacher], we know You are a teacher Who has come from God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs You are doing if God were not with him.” Nicodemus knew something that a lot of people we associate with don’t know. He knew God had created the universe and the world that we live on. He knew that it was God Who had set the rules for life; and, he was trying to live by those rules.

The nation or kingdom you live in has laws and rules; they have been set by those who are governing or ruling over you. If you want to know what those rules are, you will have to talk to them or read the laws they have published. Jesus is the Creator of the universe and He is the One Who made the rules for life; He made the rules for relationships; He made the rules for finances; He made the rules governing emotions; and He made the rules for our physical bodies. If you want to know what THOSE rules are, you will have to talk to Him or read the Bible that He caused to be written.

Nicodemus was smart; he was looking for someone who knew what they were talking about; we frequently don’t do that. He could see that JESUS knew what He was talking about; he could see that Jesus was different. He understood that no one could perform the miraculous signs You are doing if God were not with him. We will get advice from people who are having all the same problems we are; we listen to people who don’t know any more than we do about solving them.

Nicodemus had seen Jesus help all kinds of people with some of the worst problems he had ever seen. He realized that Jesus had to be sent by God or He wouldn’t be able to do these kinds of things. In other words, he realized that Jesus was Someone Who knew what He was talking about. Jesus made this universe; and He made you. Jesus made the rules for life; and He has the power to help solve those things that aren’t working for you. You can stay under the rules you are currently under, or, you can let Jesus move you into His rules.

Let’s say you have a lot of money and are looking for a bank to put it in. What is the number one thing you want to know about them? Can you trust them? That is the same issue you are dealing with concerning your life. This is the only life you have. Who can you trust to help you make the best of it? Nicodemus was trying to see if Jesus was someone he could trust; that is what you are doing. And, that is good; because, Jesus will be able to work miracles in your life.

Before Nicodemus could ask Jesus his first question, Jesus answered the most important one. Jesus knew the question Nicodemus needed to ask but didn’t know how; he needed to ask, how does someone become a part of God’s Kingdom? That was a question that Nicodemus wasn’t smart enough to ask. Let’s see what God’s Kingdom has to do with the problems and issues you are facing.

Remember the store example? In order to buy the coat you want, you will have to find the store or internet site that sells them. The same thing applies here; you may not be interested in God’s Kingdom but it offers better laws and rules for you to live under. The natural laws of this world, that you are living under now, are CONTROLLING what kind of life you are going to be ALLOWED to live. Nicodemus knew that; he could see that Jesus was living under totally different laws and rules. But, he didn’t realize that he could change kingdoms and be brought under a whole new governmental system.

There are people whose lives are miserable because of the rules of the company they are working for. They need to move to a company that has better rules and policies. God’s Kingdom has laws, rules, and policies that make it possible for you to be free from such issues as are being caused by anger. For you to be convinced that His Kingdom is real and a better place for you to live, He is going to show you how to be healed and helped through new laws, rules, and principles governing your life. If you allow Him to bring you under His Kingdom laws you can be helped with the difficulties you are having with anger. You just need to let Him show you how to change kingdoms.

John 3:3 In reply Jesus declared, “I tell you the truth, no one can see the Kingdom of God unless he is born again.” We all take it for granted that we got here by a birth that is incredible. Where were you before you were born? You don’t know! Why did it take being born to get here? We don’t know! But, we all know that we wouldn’t be here if we hadn’t been born. Our birth made us a citizen of a country and a member of a family. The same thing applies to God’s Kingdom and God’s family. Now, let’s see how citizenship and family membership gives us rights, privileges, rules, and laws we are born under.

The natural rules and laws you were born under make your body limited in abilities, talents, skills, and opportunities. The laws of the family you were born in control what you will be allowed to do with your body. The laws of the country you were born in also control what you will be allowed to do with your body. The laws of the world you were born in additionally control what you will be allowed to do with your body. Most people think that the laws and rules they are currently under will be the ones they will be under for the rest of their lives. But, Jesus went about proving that there are Kingdom laws and rules He offers as an alternative.
