The Submission Courses Part 1

Textbook For
“Submitting Your Attitudes”

Allowing STUDY To Train Your Heart
You are now moving into the second step in The Six Biblical Principles which is STUDY. Studing the Bible gives you truths that will help you understand what is available to you. All the textbook book pages in these courses are specifically designed for a type of study; and, all the workbooks are specifically designed for a type of prayer. But, the type of study and type of prayer in these pages will be devoted to special emphasis on one of The Six Biblical Principles. This is so you can be led by Jesus into getting all of these things flowing in and through your life.

Mat 5:3 (NIV) Blessed are the POOR IN SPIRIT, for theirs
is the kingdom of heaven.

Getting God’s Power-Attitudes
Let’s let Jesus take us through each of God’s power-attitudes from this point on. But, we must allow Him to do more than just explain them to us. Through each of these textbook pages, Jesus will be explaining and helping you see the truth about each of the power-attitudes of God. Then on the next page, He will use the workbook page to help you invite God and His power-attitudes into your life. If you will pray and ask Jesus to help you believe that He is answering each prayer provided in the workbook pages, you will get each of these power-attitudes placed inside your heart.

Poor In Spirit
A Type Of Being Teachable
The reason this power-attitude of God isn’t named “teachable” is because it is much more complex than that. A person who is teachable can be gullible. A person who is poor in spirit is only teachable as it relates to God’s truth. If it isn’t knowledge, foreknowledge of the future, understanding, and wisdom from God and the Bible, a person who is poor in spirit rejects it. As you open your heart to God’s power-attitude of being poor in spirit you will be able to tell the difference between truths of God and all other information. Once you have God’s knowledge, foreknowledge of the future, understanding, and wisdom, you can make decisions and take actions that are based on facts.

Your Source Of Information
Isa 55:8-9 (NIV) “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.” God is offering this kind of information to you right now. He is asking you to allow your life to automatically raise to a much higher level of success and victory. When you became a Christian, you received the ability to comprehend spiritual things. 1 Cor 2:14-16 (NIV) The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man’s judgment: “For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

Becoming Poor In Spirit
Psa 10:4 (NIV) In his pride the wicked does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God. One of the aspects of pride is to have a know-it-all attitude. It is now up to you to decide whether or not you want God’s knowledge, foreknowledge of the future, understanding, and wisdom. If there is ANY area where you think you already know the answer, or, you think you know someone who can give you the answer, that is an area where God CAN’T put His power-attitude of you being poor in spirit. Your human thoughts are far below the thoughts of God. But, pride can keep you from being aware of how inadequate your thoughts are. Prov 16:18 (NIV) Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.

The Information Of God Brings Blessings
Prov 3:13-18 Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding, for it is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. It is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with it. Long life is in its right hand; in its left hand are riches and honor. Its ways are pleasant ways, and all its paths are peace. It is a tree of life to those who embrace it; those who lay hold of it will be blessed. This is what you are looking at right now; this is what you are inviting into your heart.

Being Poor In Spirit Brings Blessings
Mat 5:3 (NIV) Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Jesus is asking you to submit your attitude of receptivity to knowledge, understanding, and wisdom to Him. He wants you to accept the Bible as the information that you are willing to base your life on. If you think something, believe something, or think you know something that disagrees with the Bible, He is now asking you to reject your opinions, beliefs, and principles. He is asking you to replace them with the Bible’s truth.

Being poor in spirit will weaken your confidence in yourself; but, it will empower and build your confidence in God. 1 Cor 1:25 (NIV) For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength. Jesus is trying to use this Scripture to help you be open to all God has to offer. He wants to use this Scripture to help you be willing to allow Him to replace all the things you were depending on.

Being Poor In Spirit Brings Power
2 Cor 12:9 (NIV) But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, SO THAT Christ’s power may rest on me. Jesus is asking you to allow being poor in spirit to empower you to take your eyes off of yourself and other humans and put them on God. He wants to help you see the inadequacies of humans and the great superiority of all YOUR God has to offer. Jesus wants to help you see God’s attitudes and character; first it will help you trust Him; then it can lead you into wanting Who He is and what He has. He has the kind of attitudes and character we all need.

Being Poor In Spirit Brings A Powerful Ministry
1 Cor 2:3-5 (NIV) I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, SO THAT your faith might not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power. If you will yield to Jesus and invite His poor in spirit attitude into you, you will get breakthroughs in your own life. But, through being poor in spirit you won’t be showing people how great and successful you are. You will be leading them to Jesus, Who is able to give them the same types of breakthroughs He gave you.
