Submitting Your Will-Power To Jesus Through Prayer
Jesus explains how to pray in Matthew 6:9-13 NIV): This, then, is how you should pray: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.”
Pray To Find Out Why You Are Here
Our Father in heaven: Your true Father is in heaven; when you were born again, He gave birth to you. You are now a child of God, a member of His family, and a citizen of His Kingdom. You now have eternal life; that means that a billion years from now you will still be living in the spirit realm. A trillion years from now you will STILL be using what you learned and got skilled at here on earth. Having long conversations with your heavenly Father is how you get your will-power ready for eternal life.
Pray To Appreciate What Is Important
Hallowed be Your name: We all start out appreciating the human life; but, that is like prefering the caterpillar over the butterfly that the caterpillar turns into. The butterfly has to start out as an ugly worm before it can metamorphous into a butterfly. You have to start out as a human before you can be transformed into a child of God. Born AGAIN means you have to be born as a human before you can be born AGAIN as God’s child. Hallowed be your name means your will-power has learned how to love and appreciate your heavenly Father. He is the best thing that has ever happened to you.
Desire To Mature
Your kingdom come: Have you noticed how children and young people want to do adult things. They try to be older and have more responsibility than they are trained for. They push for freedoms that they are not equipt for. If they have good parents, those parents will REGULATE what they can do. Good parents will use this young person’s deep desires in their will-power to get more opportunities to act like and live like an adult. They will put attitude and character growth in front of the young person. When they have demonstrated growth in those areas, THEN they get more opportunities and freedoms.
If you are perfectly happy with where you are, then you need to pray for a better revelation of why you are here on earth. When you start praying for God’s Kingdom to come, that is the moment when you and your will-power have an eternal perspective. You have become a young child who just can’t hardly wait until they can start doing some adult things. As you see your heavenly Father doing such God-sized, supernatural, and miraculous things, your will-power begins to DESIRE to grow in attitudes and character so you can be trusted with Kingdom things.
Desire God’s Way Of Life
Your will be done: As long as your will-power is under your control, you must know that, that means you don’t understand how awesome God is. You are like a child with incredible parents; but, you think they should let you do things other parents are letting their child do. You are looking at “parents” who are horrible parents and thinking that you would love to have them as your “parents.” Many children don’t find out how right their parents were until they suffer from their rebellion. Their parents were children once; and now they are paying for the mistakes they made. Your heavenly Father’s will for your life will produce the most wonderful, miraculous, and blessed life possible; submit your will-power to Jesus.

Share God’s Way Of Life
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven: Have you ever admired someone who didn’t even believe there is a God? Have you ever allowed someone who didn’t follow the Bible to teach you about relationships, moral issues, and about attitudes and character? It isn’t until you allow Jesus to convince you that God’s way is the best way, that your will-power will embrace righteousness, godliness, holiness, and purity. We all start out IN LOVE with the things of this world; we respect them, admire them, want to emulate them, and aspire to their greatest accomplishments. But, once you can see things through God’s eyes, you find out they are the most sinful, evil, and cruel thing you can involve yourself in; this will help you submit your will-power to Jesus.
Pray To Learn
Give us today our daily bread: If you only learn how to get your human needs met through your career, your job, or your human efforts, you will fail at life. Mat 6:25 (NIV) Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? You will soon be living in a world where food and clothing won’t matter much. If you don’t learn how to get your PHYSICAL needs met through God, you missed the whole point of your existence. Using your will-power to start praying and talking with Him will help you understand what Jesus meant when He said: “Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?”
Pray To Forgive
Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors: Christianity is based on one major principle. Mat 7:12 (NIV) So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. Gal 5:14 (NIV) The entire law is summed up in a single command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Luke 6:38 (NIV) Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Mat 6:12 (NIV) Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. God treats us based on how we treat others. Submit your will-power to Jesus.
Pray Against Bait, Lures, And Traps
And lead us not into temptation: The more you learn how horrible sin is, the more you will be able to use your will-power to apply The Six Biblical Principles to being set free from it. Your heavenly Father knew what He was doing when He labelled various things as sins. He demonstrated His love for you when He put all that information about it in your Bible. He demonstrated His love for you when He sent Jesus to die in your place. He demonstrated His love for you when He accepted Jesus’ death as your death to all the sins you have, are, and will commit. He demonstrated His love for you when He put the Holy Spirit inside you to give you the power to put to death the misdeeds of your body (Rom 8:13). Submit your will-power to Jesus.
Pray To Be Victorious Over Satan
Deliver us from the evil one: It is a journey from liking, enjoying, pursuing, and living in sin. Your will-power has to be changed before you can give it all up. That is what salvation and justification did for you. Rom 7:22 (NIV) For in my inner being I delight in God’s law. Your will-power is in your spirit; Romans 7:15-25 is dealing with your will-power that was transformed to HATE sin and LOVE righteousness. BUT, now you must learn how to live as a child of God. You need to learn how to use your spiritual equipment just like you learned how to use your body’s equipment.
