Yielding To The Power

Day One Page One

This Week’s “Walking With Jesus” Reading
Recommendation:
Matthew Chapters 25 And 26

Seeing The Difference Between You Running Your Life And God Running It
Eccl 1:2 “Meaningless! Meaningless!” says the Teacher. “Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless.”

Power Without Relationship
Your Philosophy For Life
Many people have talked to you about your life and how you should run it. You have read and studied many philosophies that have influenced your thinking on life. From all the information that has come your way, you have decided what and how much of each idea would be accepted into your own personal philosophy for life. This philosophy is the one that is currently influencing your decisions as to what you do each day, your plans for your future, and your goals you want to reach by certain periods of your life.

Life Goes By So Fast
Solomon and Samson picked their philosophies of life. The Bible shows you their lives so you can see that wisdom and physical power separated from God causes great suffering. The reason this is so important is, it can happen to you so easily. You don’t always get to decide what you are going to with your days. The list can get really long that is telling you all the things you need to do each day. It is easy to have a whole day without doing anything with God. Its easy to go a whole month without working on God’s plan for you.

Why Learn From Your Own Mistakes?
Many people will get to the end of their lives and be disappointed in the end result. Since you only have this one shot at living a successful life, it is important to remind you that eternity is right around the corner. If you read about Solomon, Samson, and others and take advantage of all the life-examples the Bible has provided you, you will be pleased with the end results you experience. It is important to realize that neither Solomon or Samson meant to do anything that would be a disappointment to them; they just did.

Defining Advantages
You Have All The Advantages
Aren’t there times when you wish you had the advantages that you saw someone else have? Haven’t you thought that things would be so much better if you just had some special advantage? Solomon and Samson had advantages that the rest of mankind don’t have. With those advantages, you would think that their lives would be wonderful. But they weren’t! Pray that Jesus will help you realize that God gave you the advantages you needed. He didn’t make any mistakes. He made everything you need available to you.

It’s The Same Pitfalls
What kept Solomon and Samson from experiencing the very best life a person could possibly have? What caused them to fall into the same traps that most humans fall into? With all their advantages, why did they just fill their life with the same types of pleasure and experiences that everyone else experiences? Why did they end up in the same traps even though they could have lived with such special advantages? They were looking for happiness just like you. But, they tried to get it through another source than God.

Read The Warning Signs
As wise as Solomon was and as powerful as Samson was, they couldn’t defeat the side effects of sin. God has a source of happiness, joy, satisfaction, pleasure, peace, contentment, enjoyment, and success that lacks those side effects. If you want to, your life will take advantage of the experiences of Solomon and Samson and you will yield to God. He will show you a better way of living your life. He will change your philosophies and get you on a path that will end up getting you the things you wanted in the first place.

Your Prayers Will Protect You
Ask Jesus to help you see the principles in the lives of the various Bible personalities. Ask Him to help you take advantage of the lessons that come out of all those people’s lives that He handpicked to train you with. Invite Him into the philosophies of your life and let Him help you develop a philosophy that will give you the things you seek.
