It is hard for many Christians to believe their body is the culprit that is causing them to hear three other voices that aren’t coming from God. Our body is in direct contact with our spirit. We always know what it wants and can feel its desires. It can literally force us to do what it wants. It doesn’t have the characteristics of God’s voice. Like Satan, it drives, demands, forces, and makes us do things we know are wrong. It also keeps us from doing things we know are good and right. It can get too tired, have too much pain, feel too much boredom, and want too many other things to head into spiritual issues. It has a temporal, earthly perspective. It is only interested in the right here, right now aspects of life. It doesn’t like delay. It wants pleasure and avoidance from pain right now.

A really big issue about our body is the fact that it is the channel or open door through which the voice of Satan and the world communicate to us. Our body agrees with satanic and worldly ideas and philosophies. It can be easily trained to do things Satan’s and the world’s way.

Since we were born to have direct contact with our body, something has to be done to it BEFORE we will be able to only tune into God’s voice. We have learned how to tell the difference between God’s voice tone and character and the voice of the body, the world, and Satan. Now we need to learn how to close down the part of us that is constantly feeding us information that isn’t from God. This Scripture, we are looking at today, is telling us how to deal with the body. Once that is done, it will close off all other sources of communication. That will help you hear God clearly. You won’t be hearing all these other voices. Your thoughts and feelings will clear up and tune into God’s tone and character.

Pray that God will help you be trained by the Holy Spirit on how to present your body as a living sacrifice. Ask God to empower you to take the things you are learning from the Holy Spirit and be able to apply them to this problem you are having with your body. Tell Him you trust His description and evaluation of your body. Let Him know you believe your body is your problem with being able to hear His voice clearly.
