Knowing God’s Voice Tone

Day One    Page One

This Week’s “Walking With Jesus” Reading
Recommendation:
Mark Chapters 9 And 10

Taking The First Step
When you made Jesus the Lord of your life by accepting Him as your Lord and Savior, you received the ability to RECOGNIZE Jesus’ voice. You received special spiritual ears that enabled you to hear His voice, know it is Him, and want to stay close to Him. However, your body has certain temptations and desires that fight these abilities you received through salvation. Your body hears and is drawn toward other voices that interfere with your ability to recognize Jesus’ voice. You can still hear His voice; but it gets mixed in with other messages that are coming into and through your body. You need to be able to filter out all the other influences in your life so you can always be sure you are hearing Jesus and following Him.

Jesus explained to His disciples, before He went away to heaven, that the Holy Spirit was going to come to be with them. After Jesus was caught up to be seated at our heavenly Father’s right hand, the Holy Spirit came, in Acts 2:1-4, to speak to all God’s children. He only speaks for Jesus. Just like Jesus spoke to the original disciples, when He was here on earth, Jesus speaks to us by the Holy Spirit.
Jesus said the Holy Spirit would ONLY say those things from Him. As you learn how to be taught by the Holy Spirit, you are actually learning about and from Jesus. Jesus and the Holy Spirit are working together as one so you can be cared for by His words. When the Holy Spirit, Who is now living with you inside your body, talks to you Spirit to spirit, He is only saying what Jesus wants said to you. So, when an idea comes up in your thinking from the Holy Spirit, it is directly from Jesus.

Ask Jesus to help you see the Holy Spirit as His representative. Ask Him to help you listen to the Holy Spirit’s words as being straight from Him. Let the Holy Spirit’s words be Jesus’ words to you. Jesus and the Holy Spirit are one and should be respected with the same authority, power, and love. The way we are now able to hear Jesus is through our Spirit to spirit contact with the Holy Spirit. Pray that you will see the Holy Spirit and Jesus as one. Pray that you will be able to hear Jesus through the Holy Spirit’s voice.
