Good News Communication

Day One    Page One

This Week’s “Walking With Jesus” Reading
Recommendation:
John Chapters 1 And 2

Giving What You Have
As we move away from religious rituals and move into the real life of Christianity, we begin a close relationship with God. Rather than only being able to communicate with Christians in religious settings, we learn how to communicate Christianity out in our regular activities of life.

As we learn how to apply the Biblical principles to every aspect of daily life, Christianity becomes real to us. We see how much it would be able to help those around us. We are no longer trying to teach people how to live in church, we are helping them win at life. Now we are involved in those things we have been seeking all along; and we have a message that people all want. Not all of them will be willing to get it from God; but it is the message everyone wants to hear. Here’s the good news: the things everyone is seeking are available to everyone, everywhere and it’s free.

Helping People Trade Sources
Jesus offers us a way of life that is filled with those things everyone is seeking. However, everyone, at some point in their life, has sought happiness, peace, joy, pleasure, and success through a lot of other sources rather than God.
Even though these sources have let them down and have produced many undesirable side-effects, they have received some benefits from them. This has caused them to keep trying them and neglecting God’s answer to a good news life.

We all have to be brought to a place where we get discouraged with these other sources of temporary benefit. With the Holy Spirit’s work of showing everyone that sin is wrong and hurts everyone, with the side-effects that come from wrong sources of happiness and pleasure, and with the emptiness that comes from not having God in our hearts and lives, we all come to a place where we start looking for some better way of getting our needs met. That is when a person is most likely to be open to good news communication.

Pray that Jesus helps you get all you need from the good news message yourself. Ask Him to produce the great things it has to offer you. Let the good news message fill your life with all kinds of good news benefits. Then pray for your life in the good news to impact the lives of those who are wanting to change sources of getting their needs met. Ask Jesus to guide you to those who are currently ready to receive the message that is flowing out of your life.
