Having things go the way you want them to can be really exciting. When your life is wonderful, you don’t want anyone, even God, messing it up. Out of all the times when things weren’t going your way, you now have things happening that are just right. During these times you aren’t very receptive to a change of plans from God. It is at that moment you have to be willing to go from things being good to things being great.

When things are going good, it can be hard for you to believe that God could make them MUCH better. There may not be anything wrong with your plan. It can be a plan that would bring great happiness to you and your friends; but God always has a better plan. He always has a plan that is much bigger, more beneficial to everyone, and brings greater blessings to all involved. However, you will have to be convinced that this is true. If you aren’t, you won’t give God a chance to prove it to you.

In order for you to be willing to trade a very good way of life for a much better way of life, you will have to be either convinced that it is or that God can. You can require that God prove His plan. Or, you can ask Him to help you trust Him. Don’t become satisfied with the way things are. Avoid the fear of change. Let God show you how to make and accept changes in your life without stress concerning the unknown. All of this takes a true faith in God’s ability to only do good things for you.

It helps you make changes from a wonderful life to a godly life, when God shows you a glimpse of the new godly life He is offering. You can ask Him to explain some of the benefits of this new life He is offering. You can let Him fill your heart with excitement for making the change. You can let Him help you see and feel the benefits that will come from yielding to His better way. BUT, the greatest way for you to allow Him to make changes is, to look back at all the wonderful things He has already done and then trust Him with you future.
