TWO: He has to give us His peace.
John 14:27 (NIV) Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
As we read this Scripture, we are being given permission to have Jesus' peace. This Scripture is empowering us with the ability to be at peace. The first response required of us is to believe that this Scripture has given us permission to have Jesus' peace in our heart and mind. |
Then we are being required to believe that we now have the power to live life and do the ministry while in Jesus' peace. This makes it possible to thank God for His permission and His power. We can admit to Him and to ourselves that we now have that peace. Faith has just grabbed hold of God's Truth and accepted it as fact in our life. This is a vital moment in our moving into Christ's life and ministry. If we had not received this peace, we would be taken by Christ into situations that would cause us to want to take our body back. Christ's life and ministry being lived through us is going to take us into some very scary situations. Moment by moment we have to let Jesus continue to have His way and will in our life through our body. If peace isn't in place, we will pull back from certain situations in fear.
