Jesus, teach me that prayer is the process of inviting or including God in my life. If I am trying to make a decision, help me ask God what I should do. Let that be the moment when God starts helping me get GOOD ideas for making my decision. Help me go about my day talking to God rather than just thinking to myself. Let that be the way I include God in the processes of my thoughts. Teach me that me inviting God and including God through thoughts that are formed into prayers are where I get God’s help to win over hopelessness issues.

Jesus, use this program and its three studies to show me how to maintain my relationship with God through Your Lord’s prayer. Use the first study, “The Lord’s Prayer For New Christians,” to build a good prayer foundation in me and my friends. Use the second one, “The Lord’s Prayer For Sinning Christians,” for helping me and my friends repent when we do wrong. And, use the third one, “The Lord’s Prayer For Mature Christians,” to help me and my friends grow in You.

Jesus, You told me in Matthew 6:9 (NIV): “This, then, is how you should pray” and then You told me how and what to pray. Teach me that if the new Christian learns how to take advantage of this prayer for help and spiritual power, then they can expect great and mighty things to happen to them and their Christian experience. Help me understand that the Lord’s prayer is a very powerful prayer for the new Christian to pray.

Jesus, I have heard the saying: “Nobody’s perfect.” Help me understand that this is true of all Christians. Make it clear to me that all Christians fail, fall short, make mistakes, commit misdeeds of their body, and may even sin. Teach me that the Lord’s prayer deals with important aspects of those times when I have sinned as a Christian. Show me that this is a great study for dealing with those times when I am somewhat disappointed in myself.

Jesus, teach me that it is expected that I want to keep growing and maturing as a Christian. Use this study to deal with me using the Lord’s prayer as a vital tool to never stop growing spiritually. Whether I or my friends are a new Christian who wants to keep growing, a sinning Christian who wants to be delivered from some sin issue, or a mature Christian who wants to grow into being the very best there is in You, let me see that this study and this prayer is for me and my friends.

Jesus, help me understand that prayer is the way for me to not only talk TO my heavenly Father, it is a way for me to listen for His answers and comments. Even though God doesn’t typically use words and sentences, teach me that He does use thoughts and feelings. If I could move into the thoughts and feeling of another person, I wouldn’t need words. I would know what they were thinking and feeling by seeing what they see and feeling what they feel. Teach me that this ability to get whole concepts and experiences directly from God is a very powerful way for me to get to know my heavenly Father.
