Power-Emotions To Face Life
You Already Have It
Gal 5:22-23 (NIV) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. These are God’s power-emotions that are able to help you approach the issues of life with excitement. Most people are searching everywhere trying to find happiness. They buy things, do things, marry people, establish relationships, and pursue extreme pleasure trying to find happiness. However, with the fruit of the Spirit, you will go into every situation of life with happiness already in your heart.


You Just Need To Use It
Gal 4:6 (NIV) Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” This relationship with the Holy Spirit leads you into a special relationship with your heavenly Father. You go about your day knowing that you are a child of God. This elevates who you are so that you don’t try to become someone important through some other accomplishment. There is no other position in all of existence greater than being a child of God. With this knowledge and with God’s power-emotions, you are able to face some of your most difficult situations with excitement already in your heart.


You Already Feel It
Eph 1:18-19a (NIV) I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the HOPE to which He has called you, the RICHES of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and His incomparably great POWER for us who believe. When you go about life knowing and feeling the hope, riches, and power of God, it changes your attitudes. You aren’t trying to be someone, do something important, find something or someone to make you happy, you already have joy that is greater than any happiness in the world. God’s power-emotions upgrade your expectations, your goals, your attitudes, your personality, your relationships, and your accomplishments.


Joy
John 15:11 (NIV) I have told you this so that MY JOY may be IN you and that your joy may be complete. Happiness is based on what is happening around you. If you experience something good, IT MAKES you happy. But, if it turns out to not be all that great for you, THAT MAKES you unhappy. Joy stays with you no matter what happens. If you yield to Jesus’ joy, you will feel an emotion that is much more stable, supportive, powerful, and meaningful than happiness. And, it doesn’t leave you when you face a crisis and need to face it with determination, excitement, confidence, and positive attitudes.


Looking For Happiness
If you are looking for happiness, then you will be spending the rest of your life trying to find it. If you start a career, you hope it will produce happiness. When it doesn’t, it gets hard to go on from there. If you establish a relationship, you hope that person will make you happy. When they don’t, you are disappointed in them; they were supposed to have made you happy. But, if you already have happiness and go into situations, relationships, and circumstances, they don’t disappoint you because you already HAVE what you were looking for.


May I Help You
Paid To Ask
If someone walks up to you in a store and asks: “May I help you?” Someone is paying them to ask you that. For the large part, people are like a bunch of sharks in the water swimming around looking for something or someone to meet their needs. Phil 4:19 (NIV) And my God will meet ALL YOUR needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.


Jesus Is Meeting Your Needs
Jesus has made you different; you are no longer having to spend all your time trying to get your needs met; you are going out meeting the needs of others.
  • Mat 11:28 (NIV) Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. You went to Jesus and He put you in touch with your heavenly Father Who is meeting all your needs.

  • Luke 6:38 (NIV) Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” You learned that by going around helping others get their needs met; God automatically sees to it, ALL your needs are met.

  • Phil 4:8 (NIV) Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things. You have given your thought-life over to Jesus where you are concentrating on all those things that are true, noble, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy. This moves you into those activities of life that lift up you and all the people around you.

  • Gal 5:22-23 (NIV) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. And now, not only is your thought life extremely positive, exciting, and filled with faith, your emotions are lifted up through God’s power emotions.
When YOU ask someone: “May I help you?” you really mean it! You know that YOUR God will meet ALL YOUR needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus. You are no longer like a shark going around trying to get things and people to meet your needs; they are already met. You are now able to go around helping all those people with all of their needs. Since most everyone else is busy looking for their needs to be met, you will be very unique. People will be looking for your hidden agenda, your angle, your game, or your scheme. But, because you are honest, sincere, and transformed by Jesus, they will soon find out that you are real.
