Understanding The Solution
Part 1

Solving Your
Problem With Spending
Power Scriptures
In “Understanding Your Problem With Spending” Jesus exposed you to the fact that there are foundational Scriptures. He explained to you that most of the other Scriptures in the Bible are built on them. Foundational Scriptures give you major principles for Jesus to guide your life by. Since you are facing some intense issues, these high level Scriptures are the ones you must look to for help. It is important that you realize that these vital, foundational Scriptures are necessary to bring healing, miracles, and solutions to your life.

The first foundational Scripture Jesus exposed you to is in fact the most important foundational Scripture. It is: So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. If it is able to sum up the Law and the Prophets, it is able to help you with your issues of life. Jesus wants to take you one step further, as you start understanding this Scripture as a solution.

The Worst Thing About Any Problem
Mat 7:12 (NIV) So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. Problems with things like spending are compounded by the fact that they not only hurt you by keeping you from being able to do certain things you need to do, they cause you to do things you don’t want to do. Rom 7:15 (NIV) I do not understand what I do. For what I WANT to do I do NOT do, but what I HATE I do. And, if that isn’t bad enough, the fact that you have a problem like this causes you to focus, think about, stress about, and work on ways to get rid of it. If it isn’t causing you to act out, it is dominating your mind as you look at all the damage it has and is doing.

Getting A Break From Your Pain
This problem is wearing you down; it is absorbing your time, thoughts, efforts, emotions, and is even damaging your relationships. You must allow Jesus to give you a break from this constant harassment that is trying to take over your life. The first part of your solution is for you to get a break from it so you can breath. You anticipation of when, where, and how it is going to happen again is putting a big load on you. But, the way He chooses to give you this break may not be what you expected.

The Fact That You Care
Mark 12:31 (NIV) The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” The fact that you really care that you have this problem and sincerely want to stop its influence over you is good. Rom 7:16 (NIV) And if I DO what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. Jesus is proud of you! He is willing to help you because you have this attitude of caring how this issue is hurting you and others. If you simply didn’t care that it was hurting others, if you spent all your time excusing your problem, if you were busy putting the blame for your suffering on someone else, then He would have to help you with your attitudes BEFORE He could help you with your problem.

Get Your Eyes Off Of Yourself
Mat 11:28 (NIV) Come to Me (Jesus), all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. It won’t be easy turning this over to Jesus; you have tried many times to win over your struggles with spending and failed. If Jesus is willing to give you total, immediate, and permanent healing and deliverance, then you would be glad to turn the whole thing over to Him. But, if you find you still have the problem after you turn it over to Him, that is going to be a problem.

Mat 6:33 (NIV) But seek FIRST His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these THINGS will be given to you as well. Nothing you did helped your problem go away. So, it is important that you not lay out any rules, exceptions, or limits on this miracle. The problem with spending won’t go away until some important things are done in your life. If you finally decide to take a physical problem to the doctor, do you tell them that you will let them treat you provided that it is a total, instant, and permanent result? Most things you go through take time.

If Jesus Is Going To Help
Giving To Get
Luke 6:38 (NIV) Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” If you take your car in to be fixed, if the mechanic tells you what you need to do, and if you refuse to do it, you realize, don’t you, that the car will remain unfixed? You must start praying and asking Jesus what He wants you to do. You must allow Him to start opening your eyes to the needs of other people. You can only think one thought at a time; if you are thinking about someone else’s struggles, you aren’t thinking about yours.

When you turn your problem over to Jesus, it is true that your problem still exists; but, if you ask someone to mow your yard, you know it won’t be done the moment you give them the assignment. But, if you will leave them alone and go take care of your assignments, the yard will get mowed and your assignments will be completed. Jesus will take care of your problem, IF you will start praying and looking for someone that He wants you to care about.

STEP ONE: Bringing Your Problem To Jesus
Mat 11:28 (NIV) Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. This Scripture will remain just a theory, a principle, or an idea as long as you don’t come to Jesus. But, coming to Jesus isn’t going to the store. You know how to walk, drive, and shop. This is a spiritual invitation; you are going to have to “come” with spiritual legs. This involves attitudes, faith, decisions, will, and all kinds of spiritual procedures that you are going to need Jesus’ help, training, guidance, and miracles with. For you to understand the solution to your issues with spending, you will have to be instructed, be receptive, apply yourself, and do what you are told.

The Three Keys To All Of Christianity
Mat 7:7 (NIV) Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. When you finally get to a place where you don’t know how to do something “Christian,” “spiritual,” “Biblical,” “Scriptural,” “righteous,” or “good,” your solution is praying and asking Jesus to help you with it.

Jesus Is Mandatory
There is a foundational Scripture that tells you something you must believe and base your life on: John 15:5 (NIV) “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing. Apart from Me you can do nothing. isn’t just a slogan; it is a fact.

STEP TWO: Take On A Work Harness
Mat 11:29 (NIV) Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. In review, a yoke is a wooden load or work harness that is hooked to animals that you you use to do labor. While you are going about your normal day, Jesus expects you to start looking for someone that you and He can reach out to and help with their problems. For right now, it is a matter of you asking and praying for His guidance. The moment you start asking for Him to help you find someone, is the moment when you take on your “work harness.” Don’t rush; don’t worry; don’t try real hard; just pray and ask!

STEP THREE: Help Someone Else
Mat 11:30 (NIV) For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. While you are praying and asking Jesus where He wants you to start putting your efforts of help, He wants you to enter into His rest concerning your problem. He wants you to relax and know that He has your problem taken care of. And, since He is taking care of your problem, that frees you up to help someone else. And, if you truly believe Jesus is taking care of your problem with spending, you will relax and have rest in your heart. Then He will allow you to start helping someone else with their problem.
