Jesus, help me see that even if I marry the perfect person for me and I am the perfect person for them, I will still have problems. The problem is the fact that the perfect person for the marriage isn’t perfect. I know, no one’s perfect; not even me. Granted I am close; but I still have a “few” flaws. Help me understand that I married my spouse for a lot of good reasons; those reasons may be obscured by flaws at the momemt but they are still there.

Jesus, show me that most marital issues don’t come from the fact that a person married the wrong person. Most problems come from the fact that the right people aren’t doing the right things. The important thing is, will the right people be willing to learn how to do the right things before they get divorced and marry the wrong person? Help me be willing to learn how to start doing the right things.

Jesus, help me see that many couples leave the right person and end up with the wrong person and the same wrong methods and principles. Make it clear to me that if I and my spouse could be helped to start treating each other with the love we have for each other, then the marriage problems and difficulties wouldn’t seem so big. If both of us could be helped to use different methods for getting our needs met, then our marriage relationship would go back to being exciting and wonderful.

Jesus, show me that the fact that I am reading this usually means things aren’t as good as they used to be. I may have expressed this change in relationship as being a love issue. One or both of us may be feeling like the love in the relationship is failing and going away. However, make it clear to me that this isn’t a love issue; it is a system issue. The love is still there; the cooperation, the team spirit, and the system for solving problems are what is missing. Jesus, You can create the right methods, motivations, and meaning for our marriage.

Jesus, help me understand that You don’t need to help me find reasons for my marriage issues; You can set me free without my life having to be perfect. The circumstances of my life can’t hurt me, once I experience the power of God’s healing. Show me that it is true He will do a lot of great things with my circumstances; but, the main miracle will be what He does in my heart.

Mat 28:18 (NIV) Then Jesus came to them and said, “ALL authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Jesus, make it really clear that my struggles with marriage isn’t bigger that You, Your power, or Your provisions. Show me that it is a simple thing for You to heal mw and set me free from anything I am dealing with. I have already heard that Luke 1:37 (NIV) For nothing is impossible with God. Help me see that the big issue is, what do I have to do to get Your help? If I went to a human hospital, clinic, rehab program, or most any other place for helping people with their problems, most of the responsibilities would be on them for making you well. However, unlike them, You have a goal for me that I am not aware of.

Mat 11:28 (NIV) Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Jesus, I know You want to help; I know You have the power to help; so, reveal to me what the problem is. Help me spend time with You and allow You to help me understand what the hold up is, what is keeping this problem from being solved, and what the process is for me being healed of these issues with marriage. Show me that the most difficult part of this problem is the nature of me having a struggle. The problem itself is bad enough; but, the way it is able to dominate me and change a lot of my life make it seem very powerful. Help me understand what You wantme to learn is, You are much more powerful. And, You want to help me to be powerful through You.

Eph 6:10 (NIV) Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Jesus, help me embrace the fact that You have a plan for me where you not only learn how to handle this issue, You train me and empower me to win over all issues. You want to develop a relationship with me where I work together with You. He will train you how to yield to His power and provisions until I am a skilled, trained, experienced, and mature child of God. Teach me that everyone goes through similar problems like my; but, too many of them don’t join You and get life-training. Make it clear to me that I am really not on this planet to just learn how to be a human, I am here to learn how to be dynamic as a child of God.

Jesus, You offer the solutions to all of these problems and consequences. But, the big thing You want me to learn is, You and I can easily defeat them. It is just that I haven’t put as much effort in my child of God training as I have my human training.
