Gal 5:22-23 (NIV) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Jesus, fill my heart with God’s power-emotions. Help me yield to them so my feelings will be empowered to motivate and enhance my life. Since emotions play a VERY imporant part in me, let God’s power-emotions be my emotions.

Jesus, help me understand that my emotions control me in a lot of ways. My heart sends these emotions into my body and gives me positive or negative feelings. They can be mild or they can be extremely powerful. Help me see that, depending on how serious the situation is, my heart can make me miserable and may even debilitate me.

1 Cor 2:14 (NIV) The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. Jesus, before I had been saved through being born again, help me see that my mind wasn’t able to send any Biblical thoughts into my heart. So, my heart only got its training from the world. Show me that it feels the way it does because it was taught world principles.

1 Cor 2:15 (NIV) The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man’s judgment: Jesus, make it clear to me that once I was born again, rather than my heart basing its emotions on human judgments, it started making them based on God’s type of emotions. This has brought me into an emotional condition that is stable, good, fair, just, receptive to the truth, and teachable by truth. With You using God’s emotions in me, I won’t be damaged, controlled, misled, or influenced by lies, inadequate information, or unfounded traditions anymore. Jesus, wash away all of my world training and fill me with Your truths and healing.

1 Cor 2:16 (NIV) For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ. Jesus, make it clear to me that I now have the mind of Christ. Show me that I am now able to understand spiritual things. My heart can get spiritual information because my new mind of Christ is training and influencing it with Your truths. But, help me understand that before I became a Christian, I gave my heart misinformation because I was a man without the Spirit. So now, I get mixed emotions flowing from my heart into the feelings of my body because not all the world training has been removed.

Rom 12:1 (NIV) Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship. Jesus, teach me that this is the area I am battling with as I deal with marriage issues. My mind, heart, and body have to be transformed by You. They are sending me messages that aren’t exclusively from You, the Bible, and the Holy Spirit; these can reinfect me with new damage. Make it clear to me that as long as that continues, my struggles with marriage will continue.

• Jesus, help me understand that my body has animalistic desires. It is pushing me with sexual drives, selfish desires that aren’t aware of other’s needs, self-preservation to survive no matter what happens to others, and self-value that makes it feel important and is typically at other’s expense.


• Jesus, help me see that my mind has a lot of information from world training. It craves information, understanding, and instructions. It drove me into misinformation because it can’t distinguish between right or wrong, good or bad, righteous or evil; it just wants information of any kind. But, show me that my heart accepted all of my mind’s information that I put my trust in.


• Jesus, help me realize that my heart has developed feelings based on the world training of my mind. It is driven by the desire to protect me at all costs. It is constantly listening to all the information from my mind and drawing conclusions as to what is good for me and what isn’t. Show me that if I believe some misinformation in my mind, it passes that trust into my heart.

Jesus, help me get healed in these three aspects of my life.

Rom 12:2 (NIV) Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is--His good, pleasing and perfect will.

With the assignment in Romans 12:1: Offer your bodies as living sacrifices. already presented, the Bible is showing me that I now have my complete mind, heart, and body assignment from God. Jesus, break this down for me so I can understand it, pray for it, and then start living on the basis of it.

Rom 6:19 (NIV) I put this in human terms because you are weak in your natural selves. Just as you used to offer the parts of your body in slavery to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness. Jesus, empower me to start engaging, involving, and participating in reading my Bible, praying, doing devotions, attending church, doing Bible studies like this, and putting these things into practice.

Luke 11:34-35 (NIV) Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are good, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are bad, your body also is full of darkness. See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness.

Jesus, empower me to stop exposing myself to those things that are wrong, bad, or evil. Empower me to discontinue watching television programs that I wouldn’t watch if You were sitting next to you. Empower me to discontinue internet exposure that I know You would not approve of. Empower me to discontinue listening to music that does not honor You and what You stand for. Empower me to discontinue going places that I know You wouldn’t go with me. Empower me to discontinue relationships that influence me away from a close and intimate relationship with You. Empower me to discontinue ANYTHING that falls into categories where I know You want me to quit them.

Mark 12:30-31 (NIV) Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

Jesus, teach me that this Scripture is telling me what to DO to GET a heart, mind, and body transformation; I must love God with all my heart, my soul (life in your body), my mind, and the strength of my will. Jesus, heal me in all these areas so I will be able to love God, the people around me, and myself.

Jesus, show me that I already have God’s love in me ready for me to yield to it: Rom 5:5 (NIV) And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out HIS LOVE into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, Whom He has given us. Jesus, teach me how to yield to God’s love so I will be motivated to WANT to do those things that are pleasing to God. Make it clear to me that since You have empowered me to love with God’s love, I can now learn how to stop struggling so much with doing the right things.

Mat 6:913 (NIV) This, then, is how you should pray: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come, YOUR WILL BE DONE on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.” Jesus, help me pray this prayer on a regular basis so that I will have asked God for the major issues of my day. Teach me that this prayer gets Your help in the most important areas of my life.
