Jesus help me keep in mind that my desires, drives, passions, and pressures all play a major part in influencing my money habits and conditions. Help me see that one of the reasons I struggle with bills, is because of those things I want, the things I HAVE TO HAVE, those things that bring me the most joy, happiness, and pleasure, and those things other people pressure me to have.

Jesus, if I find myrself needing to spend money because of some kind of emotional pressure, desire, or drive, help me be able to start making good, reasonable financial decisions. If I find myself being pressured by others to spend money I shouldn’t, give me Your power to not make bad financial decisions because of them.

Jesus, show me that for me to get healed financially, I need to be able to discover the root cause of my problems. There was a time when I didn’t have an issue with bills. At that time, I started down a financial path while using certain principles to guide me. Help me look back on my life. Help me be able to see the moments when I started making decisions that caused me to be where I am now. Let those decisions and those principles be challenged and brought before You.

Jesus, if there are other people involved in my finances, help me see that they need to join me in these studies and prayers. If that isn’t possible, then help me separate my finances from those who are doing damage to my financial situation. I now ask You what I should do to keep me from being in impossible situations? Give me wisdom and power to move forward in clearing out all those things that are pushing me in the wrong direction.

Jesus, it may be true that circumstances came my way and caught me in a bad situation. But, was there something I could have done so as to have been ready for that circumstance? What causes me to run my finances on close margins. Why wasn’t I prepared financially for possible emergencies. Do I feel I “need” things I don’t really have to have?

Jesus, asking You to examine my heart may pose a painful issue. If I don’t want to look back at what I SHOULD have done, help me be able to. Help me be able to look at my past financial strategy. Help me get the healing I have to have. Help me allow You to show me where I may have gone wrong. Help me by assisting me in living a better way of life.
