Understanding The Solution
To Spirituality Issues Part 2

Meekness
Meekness is to realize that there is nothing you can do better than God. To make God your final authority is to realize this about Him: “My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts (Isa 55:8-9).”.

Starting The Right Way
Psa 119:9 (NIV) How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to Your Word. If you are young, then you are starting off right. If not, then you can help young people start off right by praying for them to make God their final authority. As soon as is possible, you need to pray and ask God to help you read the Bible as being your guide into the realities of life. Now, go back and turn this Psalm-prayer (Psa 119:9) into a prayer for you. Pray that the young will realize that the Word of God is the only truth.

A Total Commitment
Psa 119:10 (NIV) I seek You with all my heart; do not let me stray from Your commands. It isn’t until your heart accepts the authority of God’s Word that you are where you need to be. You may accept it with your mind on a logical basis; but, until you feel strongly that it is your only truth, you need to keep praying for your heart. Now, go back and turn this Psalm-prayer (Psa 119:10) into a prayer for you. Ask God to heal your heart and empower it to believe in God and His Word.

Memorizing Truth
Psa 119:11 (NIV) I have hidden Your Word in my heart that I might not sin against You. Memorizing Scripture is a true sign of you basing your life on the Bible. Getting familiar with as many verses as possible makes them instantly available for you to use during your day. Ask God to empower you to make as many as possible a part of your memory. Now, go back and turn this Psalm-prayer (Psa 119:11) into a prayer for you. Ask God to give you the verses in the Bible that will help you not be committing misdeeds that you have to repent of and go make right with other people.

Praise Acknowledges Truth
Psa 119:12 (NIV) Praise be to You, O LORD; teach me Your decrees. You can tell when your heart is really embracing God and His Bible. When you start getting excited about it, when you start being thankful for it, and when you are praising God for the results it is bringing into your life, is when your heart is opening up to the truths of the final authority of God. Now, go back and turn this Psalm-prayer (Psa 119:12) into a prayer for you. Ask God for a powerful praise to raise up inside your heart.

Speaking The Truth
Psa 119:13 (NIV) With my lips I recount all the laws that come from Your mouth. When you start quoting the Bible, referring to it in your conversations, talking about about it to others, and using it to make a point, that is when you are really incorporating it into your life.

James 3:2 (NIV) We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check. This verse shows you how important it is to fill your conversation with the principles of the final authority of God and His Word. Now, go back and turn this Psalm-prayer (Psa 119:13) into a prayer for you. Ask God to show you how to make the principles of the Bible a major part of how you talk.

Value The Truth
Psa 119:14 (NIV) I rejoice in following Your statutes as one rejoices in great riches. Once you see the Bible as a wealth of information, understanding, knowledge, and wisdom, that is the moment you have put it up as the priority in your philosophies of life. Once it supercedes all the other “authorities” in your life, that is when you are a Bible-based Christian. You are seeing God and the Bible as the most valuable source you have. Now, go back and turn this Psalm-prayer (Psa 119:14) into a prayer for you. Ask God to let Himself and the Bible be accepted by you as the most valuable resource you have.

Study The Truth
Psa 119:15 (NIV) I meditate on Your precepts and consider Your ways. It isn’t until you really start studying the Bible that you are serious about it. 2 Tim 2:15 (AKJV) Study to show yourself approved to God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Now that you are doing these studies, you are being led by Jesus into the meaning, the purpose, and the procedures for transforming your life. Now, go back and turn this Psalm-prayer (Psa 119:15) into a prayer for you. Ask God to empower you to concentrate, focus, meditate, and comprehend the truths in His Word.

Emotions That Embrace The Truth
Psa 119:16 (NIV) I delight in Your decrees; I will not neglect Your Word. This is the attitude Jesus put in your spirit when you were born again. Rom 7:22 (NIV) For in my inner being I delight in God’s law. This is the real you; this inner spirit being is who you are. Even though your body, Satan, the world, and all your past world training are fighting you, YOU delight in God and the things of God. Now, go back and turn this Psalm-prayer (Psa 119:16) into a prayer for you. Ask God to empower you, your spirit, to become the dominant part of your being. Ask Him to help you win over your body, Satan, the world, and all your past world training.

Pray For The Truth
Psa 119:17 (NIV) Do good to Your servant, and I will live; I will obey Your Word. This is what you want to keep praying all the time. Mat 7:11 (NIV) If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give GOOD GIFTS to those who ASK Him! Now, go back and turn this Psalm-prayer (Psa 119:17) into a prayer for you. Ask God to help you constantly be asking for those things that are good for you and the people around you.

Eyes For The Truth
Psa 119:18 (NIV) Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in Your law. This is a very important prayer; it is one thing to read and study the Bible. It is another thing to have God open your spiritual eyes and you understand what it means. Once the Bible becomes alive and real to you, that is when you are getting spiritual eyes that are open to God and His Word.

This is the prayer that God’s people are praying for you: Eph 1:17-19a (NIV) I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may KNOW Him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may KNOW the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and His incomparably great power for us who believe. Now, go back and turn this Psalm-prayer (Psa 119:18) into a prayer for you.

Humility Gets The Truth
Psa 119:19 (NIV) I am a stranger on earth; do not hide Your commands from me. This is when you realize you are new to all of this. When you get to this place, you become a child and God becomes your parent in your eyes. You see the importance of your relationship and how much you need to learn. Luke 18:17 (NIV) I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it. Now, go back and turn this Psalm-prayer (Psa 119:19) into a prayer for you. Ask God to help you to receive the kingdom of God like a little child.

Hunger For The Truth
Psa 119:20 (NIV) My soul is consumed with longing for Your laws at all times. This is when you move into a passion for God and His Word. You give up a casual approach, a routine, a “let’s get this over” attitude, and a distracted approach to the study of God’s Word. Psa 42b:1 (NIV) As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for You, O God. Now, go back and turn this Psalm-prayer (Psa 119:20) into a prayer for you. Ask God to give you a deep hunger for Him and His Bible.

Pride Resists The Truth
Psa 119:21 (NIV) You rebuke the arrogant, who are cursed and who stray from Your commands. When a person gets to the place where they feel they already know how life works, that is when they have cut themselves off from God. If you don’t have questions for God, aren’t trying to find out how life works through studying the Bible, and feel like you already know the answer to a certain issue, then you have entered into pride. Now, go back and turn this Psalm-prayer (Psa 119:21) into a prayer for you. Ask God to protect you from getting into pride.

Protected By The Truth
Psa 119:22 (NIV) Remove from me scorn and contempt, for I keep Your statutes. God and the Bible will help you when you are being persecuted, criticized, verbally abused, and attacked. No matter how much people try to prove to you that living according to the Bible is wrong, you will be strong. Eph 6:10 (NIV) Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Now, go back and turn this Psalm-prayer (Psa 119:22) into a prayer for you. Ask God to help you not waver, doubt, or weaken when you are being persecuted for His name’s sake.

The Authority Above All Authorities
Psa 119:23 (NIV) Though rulers sit together and slander me, Your servant will meditate on Your decrees. When rulers, governments, and human authorities decide that you must give up your presentations of the Bible to other people, you need to be ready to stand for the truth. Acts 4:18-19 (NIV) Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John replied, “Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God’s sight to obey you rather than God.” Now, go back and turn this Psalm-prayer (Psa 119:23) into a prayer for you. Ask God to help you be able to stand strong even in the face to laws and world authorities.

Counselled By The Truth
Psa 119:24 (NIV) Your statutes are my delight; they are my counselors. When you are suffering, hurting emotionally, and confused about certain issues, allow your mind to search God’s Word. Make God and the Bible the only place where you look for guidance, answers, and direction. Now, go back and turn this Psalm-prayer (Psa 119:24) into a prayer for you. Ask God to help you seek counsel from Him, His Word, and His people.
