2 Tim 2:15 (AKJV) Study to show yourself approved to God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Jesus, I realize that if I wanted to learn how to be a professional in a very technical field, I would have to put a lot of time, money, and effort in STUDYING for reaching that goal. Show me that this is like me wanting to be set free from guilt issues. It is going to take a lot of time and effort in STUDYING the Bible; but, I will learn how to get Your help.

Jesus, show me that the Bible is filled with good news information that points me to incredile truths. Make it clear to me that STUDYING the Bible helps me give up human techniques that are currently failing me. You are leading me into these studies so I can LEARN a powerful way to be set free. Help me understand that if someone doesn’t point these things out to me, I won’t know how to be set free.

Jesus, help me see that STUDYING the Bible during these times gives me the truths to ASK for. They tell me what principles to BELIEVE in. They point me in the direction of what to DESIRE. These STUDIES set me free from misinformation and point me to You. You are better than any profession or career I can pursue.

Jesus, show me that if through research or someone’s recommendation I find a school where I can study and become a professional in that field, I would have to set up an appointment for getting enrolled. At that appointment they would lay out what courses I would have to take in order to reach my goal. From the moment the educator presents the requirements, it is going to be an issue of FAITH. I am going to have to believe in, trust, rely on, and put my dependency in their skills, knowledge, and training. Show me that this is the way I must treat You.

Jesus, teach me that the Bible is going to be covering the “curriculum” I will need to take so I can be set free from guilt struggles. As the Biblical STUDY tells me what it is going to take for me to be set free, I will be deciding whether or not I am going to “do what it takes.” I will be deciding whether or not I want to pay the price.

Jesus, show me that the wonderful thing about these STUDIES is, they aren’t trying to get me to use my own efforts, determination, commitment, or dedication. You are giving me Your power, determination, commitment, and dedication. You want to show me what You can do for me, rather than me trying to do these things for myself.

Jesus, You don’t have an office with wonderful credentials hanging on Your walls. You use frail, flawed humans to spread Your good news about Your healing power. But, even though You use humans, You will be the one guiding me through the Bible by explaining and helping me understand the Scriptures from Your Bible. The Scriptures I get exposed to won’t be presented to prove a human point; they will be presented so I can know what the point is. Help me allow You and the Bible be THE final authority on all my truth. Help me realize that what I think or what other humans think has to be submitted to what the Bible and You say.

Jesus, it is true that Christians are living examples of Your healing power; but, help me realize that they can’t take their healing experiences and heal me with them. Show me that these Christians have been healed; but, they aren’t healers. Just like they had to learn to trust and believe in Your love, trustworthiness, and power, You are trying to help me do the same.

Jesus, show me that I have to do what every other Christian has to do; I have to learn how to develop my relationship with You for myself. Mature Christians can take all their studies, miracles, healings, and results and show them to me. But, I will have to do what they had to do to get them. They are proof that You do these things; but, only You do these things.

Jesus, help me see that You are going to be taking me through Scriptures from Your Book, the Bible, so I will learn to trust You for myself. All of the Scriptures You use will be in bold fonts and will have references that I can use to look them up in my Bible so I will have faith in it. You aren’t trying to build my faith in humans; You are helping me believe in You and Your words so I can receive the same healing other humans have received; You will use STUDY to take me where I need to go.

Jesus, just like me, all Christians had put their trust in You and Your words in the Bible. The more they did, the better their results were. Teach me that this is a truth You will be working on throughout all of my studies. You will be trying to help me keep trusting in You and Your words more and more. Help me do this so I can get greater amounts of Your help. I thank You that other Christians are praying that I will learn to accept what the Bible says, as being Your words. Let their prayers be answered so I will follow its instructions to the letter.

Jesus, it is true You used humans to write the things in the Bible. But, help me realize that You ONLY picked people who would write EXACTLY what You wanted said. Help me see the Bible as being Your Book and Your words. Help me understand that if I think I am reading a Scripture written by Paul, I won’t be able to receive it in creative power. Make it clear to me that all Paul did was write down what You told him to write. You aren’t asking me to trust or believe in Paul; You are asking me to trust the Bible as Your words.

Jesus, show me that the next important things I have to realize is, the Bible isn’t just a Book with Your words in it. Help me understand that each sentence contains power from You that will bring healing into my heart and life. If I eat food, I do it with the understanding that there are special nutrients and sun-power IN the food that have the ability to build my cells and empower my body. In the same way, show me that when I read a verse out of the Bible, I am spiritually ingesting Your words into my spirit. All I have to do from that point on is to believe it has the power to change my internal condition.

Jesus, I have read many books that only had instructions and information in them. Help me not just read a verse from the Bible looking for instructions or information on how to be helped with the issues of guilt. Help me not just be looking for “Ten Steps To Solving Your Problems With Guilt.” Instead, let me get something like “Ten Steps To Getting Close To Jesus.”

Jesus, show me that human “instructions” can’t help me; my human friends “instructions” can’t help me; my own human “instructions” can’t help me; and the world’s human “instructions” can’t help me. Only Your transforming power that flows through Your words can heal me! They go inside me like spiritual food I eat and they empower me from the inside out.
