Most of the pressure you are experiencing to do wrong, unloving things to yourself and the people around you comes from the evil one, Satan. Not only that, most of the bad things in your circumstances happen to you come from him. Bad “luck,” difficult circumstances, and temptations to do wrong things typically come from him.

“Deliver us from the evil one” is usually an easy thing to pray. Most of us want to be delivered from the evil one. However, it is very important for you to realize that many of the thoughts you have pop up in your head to do wrong are from him. They are NOT your thoughts or feelings; they ARE evil thoughts from the evil one. Satan is trying to get you to do things that will hurt you, those around you, and God’s plan. Satan has the right to offer you these thoughts and feelings. But, as a Christian, God has given you the right and the power to refuse them.

1 Cor 10:13 (NIV) No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. God is protecting you from temptation and the evil one with three rules:

1. What is common to man: Satan can’t tempt you with some strange thing that no one has ever heard of before. The Bible will give you lists and information on every possible thing Satan will try to trick you with.


2. Beyond what you can bear: Satan is NOT ALLOWED to tempt you with something or so many things that they are to hard for you. The temptations Satan sends at you will ALWAYS be something you will have the training, power, and relationship with Jesus to resist.


3. Provide a way out: All you have to do is always be on the watch; stay alert for Satan’s tricks, temptations, and traps. If the Holy Spirit gives you a check in your chest, if you feel like something isn’t just right, if a friend tells you they are concerned about something, then IMMEDIATELY take it to Jesus for examination. If you find yourself not being open to any challenges concerning an issue, that is a VERY GOOD indication that you are being tempted by the evil one.

When you pray “Deliver US from the evil one,” you are asking God to not only deliver you but to deliver all the other people on earth from him. “Deliver US” is including all of them in your prayer. If they will receive God’s answer to your prayer, their life will become as meaningful and blessed as yours will continue to become.

If this is your heart’s desire, then go ahead and pray these words. Say: “Deliver us from the evil one.”

Congratulations! You have just asked your heavenly Father to help you live the Christian life in a better and more powerful way today. He is now answering your prayers as you start your day. Be looking for the good things that God will be sending your way, as you continue to pray this DAILY prayer.

Being a Christian doesn’t keep all bad things from happening to you. But, it does allow the miracles of God to come your way as God solves them. Rom 8:28 (NIV) AND WE KNOW that in ALL things God works for the GOOD of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. It also empowers you to stay in peace and trust in God by knowing that somehow, someway God is going to come through with a miracle.

At first it will be harder for you to feel that peace and trust. But the more you start NOTICING the miracles, the more you will be able to believe that He will ALWAYS come through with another miracle. As you experience more and more miracles from God AND begin NOTICING these miracles, you will start saying: “He always has and He always will come through for me.”
