“Resistance Through Creation”

Fighting Wickedness Through Believing In Jesus
Why do some people resist you when you talk about Jesus?

Taking Steps Into Resistance
1. Understand The Love Of God
Rom 1:18 (NIV) The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness. The important thing to realize about God is that He IS LOVE: 1 John 4:8 (NIV) Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. God’s wrath is on these people because they are hurting themselves and other people. God really loves those people who are being hurt by these wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness.

2. See What Wickedness Is All About
God really cares that these wicked people are keeping themselves and other people from seeing His wonderful blessings. John 3:36 (NIV) Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him. They aren’t just suppressing the truth from themselves, they are campaigning and pushing their lies. They are doing their best to keep people from believing in the Son and getting eternal life. People are rejecting Jesus because of their lies.

3. Notice Wickedness Procedures
Here is another way the wicked suppress the truth: When you are at work, do you feel the resistance when you talk about Jesus? If you bring your Bible to a party, can you visualize the looks and stares? When you mention things people are doing that the Bible speaks against, can you feel the resistance? Suppressing the truth isn’t just a personal matter, these people are campaigning and pushing their lies. For you to resist wrong, bad, and evil, it won’t just be a temptation from the devil in your mind, it will come from every direction during your day. People, literature, videos, movies, games, and advertisements will be pushing those things you and the people around you need to resist.

4. Cooperate With God’s Creation
Eph 6:10 (NIV) Finally, be strong in the Lord and in HIS mighty power. Jesus is trying to make you a vessel He can flow through in power. He is trying to train you so you can be used by Him to destroy evil. 2 Cor 10:4 (NIV) The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have DIVINE power to demolish strongholds. As you look to Jesus in His earthly body and look at all the incredible aspects of God’s creation, it is so you will be able to yield to Jesus’ supernatural power.

5. Learn How To Yield To Jesus
Phil 4:13 (NIV) I can do everything through Him (Jesus) Who gives me strength. As you see what Jesus is capable of by looking at His incredible creation, it helps you realize what He is trying to do in you, through you, for you, to you, and with you. As long as you see things as a human, think like a human, and believe like a human, you will find it difficult to be able to resist evil from a supernatural basis.

6. Be Impressed With Jesus’ Power
1 Pet 5:8-9 (NIV) Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. If you have really seen Who Jesus is and what He wants to do in and through you, then creation has done its job. It has revealed God’s invisible qualities--His eternal power and divine nature. God’s creation has shown you that You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, BECAUSE the One Who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world (1 John 4:4).

Understand Who Jesus Is
Number six, “Be Impressed With Jesus’ Power” is encouraging you to be amazed with Jesus. Let Jesus show you how powerful and eternal He is. It is vital that you see this so you won’t be impressed with your problems, your body, the world, or the devil’s influence. So, prepare your heart and mind for “Understanding Who Jesus Is.”

1. Jesus Is the Word Of God
John 1:1-3 (NIV) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made Jesus is the Word; He is the divine expression of God. He is the Creator of heaven and earth; and, He created you. Jesus stepped into a small part of His creation when He came to earth as a baby. When He turned water into wine, calmed storms, raised the dead, and healed sick bodies, He was exercising His authority over His own creation. That is what He wants to do in and through you.

2. Jesus Was In The Beginning
In the beginning was the Word: Jesus isn’t part of God’s creation; Jesus is the Creator. Jesus is the Word that spoke all of creation into existence. When you admire, appreciate, and are blessed by the creation, you are being influenced by Jesus’ handicraft. What you see is representative of God and His greatness. But, Jesus created them for His own specific purpose. Col 1:15-16 (NIV) He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by Him and for Him.

3. Jesus Was With God
The Word was with God: Jesus was in on all the decision-making before the final decision was made as to mankind: Gen 1:26 (NIV) Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, in Our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” This is an opportunity for you to see God making decisions prior to fulfilling them.

4. Jesus Is God
The Word was God: Jesus stripped Himself of His God nature, equality, authority, and power in order to come to earth in the likeness of a human. Phil 2:5-7 (NIV) Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. Just coming to earth was a major sacrifice.

5. Jesus Is Your Creator
Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made: With such a beautiful, beneficial creation and with Jesus Who has such a sacrificial love, you are being given an incredible amount of powerful information. If you will pray and allow all of that information be put into your attitudes and character, you will be able to trust God with all you have and all you are.

6. Jesus Is Your Source Of Faith
Heb 11:6 (NIV) And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him. The objective of God is to help you believe that He exists and that He rewards your efforts of seeking Him. Once Jesus and His creation have empowered your faith so you are able to believe God exists, Jesus is ready to supply you with the faith to believe God rewards those who earnestly seek Him.
