The Shoes of the Gospel of Peace Scriptures

1. Putting On The Shoes Of The Gospel Of Peace
By Being Willing To Give Up Our Own Life And Plans
Mark 8:35 (NIV) For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for Me and for the gospel will save it.

2. Putting On The Shoes Of The Gospel Of Peace
By Being Willing To Trade
Mark 10:29-30 (NIV) “I tell you the truth,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for Me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age (homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields--and with them, persecutions) and in the age to come, eternal life.”

3. Putting On The Shoes Of The Gospel Of Peace
By Being Willing To Go To A Lot Of Places
Acts 8:25 (NIV) When they had testified and proclaimed the word of the Lord, Peter and John returned to Jerusalem, preaching the gospel in many Samaritan villages.

4. Putting On The Shoes Of The Gospel Of Peace
By The Gospel Taking Priority Over Our Own Life.
Acts 20:24 (NIV) However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me--the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.
5. Putting On The Shoes Of The Gospel Of Peace
By Presenting The Elements Of The Gospel Message.
Rom 1:1-4 (NIV) Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God--the gospel He promised beforehand through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures regarding His Son, Who as to His human nature was a descendant of David, and Who through the Spirit of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God by His resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.

6. Putting On The Shoes Of The Gospel Of Peace
By Presenting The Power Of God For Salvation.
Rom 1:16 (NIV) I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.

7. Putting On The Shoes Of The Gospel Of Peace
By Presenting A Righteousness That Can Be Obtained By Faith.
Rom 1:17 (NIV) For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”

8. Putting On The Shoes Of The Gospel Of Peace
By Sticking With Your Purpose.
1 Cor 1:17-19 (NIV) For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel--not with words of human wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power. Yet when I preach the gospel, I cannot boast, for I am compelled to preach. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel! If I preach voluntarily, I have a reward; if not voluntarily, I am simply discharging the trust committed to me. What then is my reward? Just this: that in preaching the gospel I may offer it free of charge, and so not make use of my rights in preaching it. Though I am free and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible.
