PSALM 7

God, I want Your gospel message
to go into all the world.

Focus On God
Psa 7:1-2 (NIV) VERSE ONE: A shiggaion of David, which he sang to the LORD concerning Cush, a Benjamite. O LORD my God, I take refuge in You; save and deliver me from all who pursue me, VERSE TWO: or they will tear me like a lion and rip me to pieces with no one to rescue me.

VERSE ONE: We all have all kinds of enemies. Some come in the form of temptations offered by others. Some come in the form of people who don’t like us. And, some come in the form of things we want that we shouldn’t want. If we let God know that we desire to serve Him and not yield to any type of temptation or attack, He will help us. If it is your desire to receive His power to conduct yourself in a godly fashion, He will honor that desire. If you run to Him for help, He will come to you. You just have to realize that you are inadequate to handle any of these things by yourself; that will help you come to Him for His protection. Pray to be saved and delivered from everything that is pursuing you.

VERSE TWO: Once you see that ALL these problems you face are bigger than you, you will turn to Him because they are too much for you. Get to the place where you can’t just accept the way life is. Realize that without God’s help these things will destroy you and there will be no hope for you. Life will be unbearable and you will end up being shut down to the place where you will no longer be able to work with God.

Receive Training Through Discipline
Psa 7:3-5 (NIV) VERSE THREE: O LORD my God, if I have done this and there is guilt on my hands, VERSE FOUR: if I have done evil to him who is at peace with me or without cause have robbed my foe, VERSE FIVE: then let my enemy pursue and overtake me; let him trample my life to the ground and make me sleep in the dust. Selah (pause and meditate on this). From this point on in this study and prayer, you will be trying to make sure there isn’t anything in your life that is causing your problems. If there are attitudes or character flaws in you, then you are saying that you are willing to suffer the consequences:

VERSE THREE: Let God know that you feel these problems are coming your way without you having done anything to cause them. Tell Him that it looks to you that this is happening in spite of you being faithful to Him. However, it is important that you believe that He has been protecting you from committing sins against Him, not you doing it. This verse is dealing with those times when you can’t think of anything you have done that He has been convicting you of, yet evil is still coming against you.

VERSE FOUR: This is a moment for you to look over your life and see if you can think of anyone whom you have wronged. See if you can think of a situation where you have treated any those who are your friends with godliness rather than love. See if you can think of a time when you unjustly treated those who are your enemies. Allow God to check your heart; see if He considers it clear; see if your conscience is still indicating that you have done all that He has empowered you to do.

VERSE FIVE: Then if you feel everything is clear, let God know you are ready of suffer the consequences if they aren’t. If these things are happening to you because you have acted incorrectly, ask Him to please let you see it. Let Him know you are willing to suffer the consequences of wrong doing. But, also let Him know you want and need His help for dealing with all of this. Turn this issue completely over to Him; let Him know you trust Him to correct you and use whatever instrument He needs to help you be the person He wants you to be.

Get A Clear Path
Psa 7:6 (NIV) Arise, O LORD, in your anger; rise up against the rage of my enemies. Awake, my God; decree justice. NOW, if all this is happening and you are being wrongfully mistreated, bring your case before God. Your life and your efforts to help others so they can know God is being hampered when temptations and resistances keep bombarding you on all sides. Your life and your outreach to others is stopped unless He moves against the things and the people who are attacking you. You need His wrath to go against everything that is trying to thwart you from being and doing that which is pleasing in His sight.

Pray For Other Christians
Psa 7:7 (NIV) Let the assembled peoples gather around you. Rule over them from on high; You are now being led into praying for other Christians; you will be asking God to let His people all devote their lives to Him. If your heart is in it, you will ask Him to help you and other Christians to submit yourselves to His rule. You will proclaim your faith in the fact that you believe He is worthy of your trust and service. You will let Him know that you want Him running all of your lives. You will tell Him that nothing is capable of doing the work that He does. You will confess your belief in His leadership and His Lordship.

Realize Where Your Righteousness Came From
Psa 7:8 (NIV) let the LORD judge the peoples. Judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, according to my integrity, O Most High. This isn’t in reference to human righteousness. You are asking Him to judge you based on the righteousness and integrity that has been credited to your account by Jesus’ death and resurrection. You are asking Him to look at you through the blood of His sacrifice. You are acknowledging that you are clean before Him because of what He has done in and through you. Jesus is your Savior and God is your Father. There is none like Him. He is greater than all things.

Share Jesus’ Work In You
Psa 7:9 (NIV) O righteous God, Who searches minds and hearts, bring to an end the violence of the wicked and make the righteous secure. You aren’t looking to your own self; you are being searched and He has found in your heart and mind the mighty work of Jesus. You are aware of the fact that you are nothing in yourself. But, you can do all things through Christ Who is strengthening you.
Your circumstances need to be cleared so you can take advantage of all Christ has done for you and others. If the work of the wicked isn’t stopped, they can keep people from getting what they need from God. But, if God makes the work of the righteous succeed, then Jesus will be able to flow through us into their lives. We just need to go forward in God’s blessings and prosperity. We need Him to give us the opportunity and the anointing to do everything He wants done. We need to ask Him to open the doors to the righteous so that we may all be able to do everything He has commissioned us to do.

Use Confession And Belief
Psa 7:10 (NIV) My shield is God Most High, who saves the upright in heart. This is your opportunity to confess and believe that God is bringing His shield of protection over you. You can also do the same over everyone and everything.

You can confess and believe that He will prosper the lives and ministry of all who serve Him. You can confess and believe that He has saved us from the great evil that sin was about to destroy us with. You can confess and believe that He has saved us from eternal damnation. And You can confess and believe that He is saving us from all the plans of the evil one. You can confess and believe that He is saving us so we can show forth His glory to all the people of this earth. You can confess and believe that He has made our hearts pure because He has purified them. You can confess and believe that He has caused us to live because He gave us life. We share this life because He commissioned us to share it to all who are willing to receive it.

Look To God’s Wrath And Blessings
Psa 7:11 (NIV) God is a righteous judge, a God who expresses His wrath every day. This is a time for us to relax in all God’s decisions. We need to allow the fact that His verdicts are perfect and correct to relax our heart and mind. In spite of all the problems we face and the circumstances around us, God will bless all the right people and pour out His wrath on all the right people. Each day His perfect will, will be accomplished and it is important for us to trust and believe in Him Who did it. Even if it doesn’t look the way we think it should, we must concentrate on the fact that He rules and reigns in complete power, wisdom, understanding, knowledge, grace, mercy, and love. We must get to the place where His will is what we want. We need to understand that we can trust Him completely.

Wait On God’s Vengeance
Psa 7:12 (NIV) If he [the wicked] does not relent, He [God] will sharpen His sword; He will bend and string His bow. Allow Jesus to help you believe God is getting ready to put a stop to those who are resisting His gospel message. This faith from Jesus will empower you to KNOW He is faithful to see to it that every person has a perfect chance to hear, experience, and decide on all He has to offer. He sent us out to tell them about His great things. This faith will empower you to know He will put a stop to those who try to stop us.

Look For The Path Of God
Psa 7:13 (NIV) He [God] has prepared His deadly weapons; He makes ready His flaming arrows. God is getting all His powerful weapons ready to destroy the evil people’s efforts. Nothing shall be able to keep every person from hearing about His glory and greatness. His weapons will always be ready. We move forward in faith knowing that He will do His part to prepare our way. Nothing shall be able to stand before us as we move ahead in God’s Name. His commission shall be carried out as we believe and obey Him.

Pray For Confusion
Psa 7:14 (NIV) He who is pregnant with evil and conceives trouble gives birth to disillusionment. All we have to do is pray that God will confuse all the wicked and evil people’s plans. We can ask Him to use their deceptions against them and bring disillusionment into their efforts and schemes.

Pray For Justice
Psa 7:15 (NIV) He who digs a hole and scoops it out falls into the pit he has made. God is waiting for us to pray and ask Him to let the traps these evil, wicked people have set to be the very pit they fall into. Rather than entrapping others, we ask Him to let them be the ones who step in it.

Pray For God’s Vengeance
Psa 7:16 (NIV) The trouble he causes recoils on himself; his violence comes down on his own head. He hears and answers our prayers when we ask Him to let all the evil that the evil person plans against His people boomerang on them. We can ask Him to bring them down with all the devices they have prepared to hurt people with. He will flood their lives with the sickness, destruction, delusion, perversion, addiction, and futility that they were hoping to inflict on others with. He will bring all their violence down on their own heads.

Always End With Thanksgiving
Psa 7:17 (NIV) I will give thanks to the LORD because of His righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High. Then after we pray this prayer, we end it with praise and worship for Him hearing and answering this prayer. It is a time to thank Him for preparing the way for the gospel to go around the world. We spend time thanking Him for speaking to all who will hear. We thank Him for transforming the lives of all He receives. We also thank Him for all He is doing to get all of us ready for eternity. Let Him know you see that His is an awesome God. Commit your heart to worshiping and praising Him throughout the ceaseless ages of eternity.
