Your Problem: God, I can’t keep my mind from being double-minded. I can’t seem to constantly believe that I can no longer conform to the pattern of this world. I ASK You to help me read this vital Scripture, believe Your Word, and the confess the results You give me through the creative power of Your Word.

The Creation Scripture: But those who live in accordance with the Spirit HAVE their minds set on what the Spirit desires. As you read this IN FAITH, it creates a mind-set in you that desires what the Holy Spirit desires.

The Results: You now KNOW that you no longer conform to the pattern of this world. Faith in the creative power of this Scripture is bringing your mind into focus on the desires of the Spirit. This Scripture has now given you permission to have your mind set on what the Spirit desires. This Scripture has also given you God’s creative power which enabled you to focus on the desires of the Spirit. But, you now have the continued responsibility to accept the truth of this Scripture. God, through this Scripture, and you through faith in this Scripture, will be working together on the control and focus of your mind on the desires of the Spirit.

Doubting isn’t you lacking faith; it is misplaced faith. It is you putting your faith in something that is contrary to Jesus and His Word. Your continued responsibility is to accept the truth of this Scripture and to state: “I live in accordance with the Spirit and I HAVE my mind set on what the Spirit desires.” When you are tempted to conform to the pattern of this world, when Satan tries to tell you that you aren’t strong enough to resist his temptations to conform to the patterns of this world, and when other people try to talk you into conforming to the patterns of this world, you use this Scripture to win.

Rom 8:6 (NIV) The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind CONTROLLED by the Spirit is life and peace. You are now ready to expose yourself to the creative power of Holy Spirit control. This isn’t something that HAPPENS to you like getting your mind set. Getting your mind set is finished; all you have to do is yield to Jesus and His power to keep your body, the world, or the devil from convincing you that it isn’t finished and isn’t invincible. Being controlled by the Holy Spirit means the Holy Spirit is constantly having to deal with your God-given free will. You control the Controller.

When you are led by the Holy Spirit to start doing things that are the opposite of the patterns of this world, you face a cross road. Each time that happens, as you are facing that issue, you decide whether or not you are going to ALLOW the Holy Spirit to control your thoughts, feelings, words, and deeds. Why would you give control to the Holy Spirit? Because the mind CONTROLLED by the Spirit is life and peace. When your mind is controlled by the Holy Spirit your thoughts in your mind, your feeling from your heart, your words that flow out of the abundance of your heart, and the deeds of your body will be supernatural. As a child of God, you will be living as a dynamic child of God.

1 Th 4:3-7 (NIV) It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to CONTROL his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God; and that in this matter no one should wrong his brother or take advantage of him. The Lord will punish men for all such sins, as we have already told you and warned you. For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.

Each of you should LEARN to CONTROL his own body: How do YOU do that?

You could:

• TRY to make your body read and study the Bible.


• TRY to make your body have good devotions everyday.


• TRY to make your body listen to good Christian music.


• TRY to make your body read good Christian books.


• TRY to make your body go to church or to a good small group.


• TRY to make your body think on Philippians 4:8 things.


• TRY to make your body yield to the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23.

Or, you could, moment by moment and issue by issue ASK for Jesus’ help, read or quote Romans 8:6, keep believing it is a creation Scripture, and get the results of you letting the Holy Spirit give you a mind that is CONTROLLED by the Spirit.

Mat 6:22-23 (NIV) The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

You could:

• Try to examine the words and the beat of the music you listen to and try to listen to the music Jesus wants you to listen to.


• Try to evaluate the content and concepts in the shows and movies you watch. And, try to set standards for what you should be exposed to.


• Try to critique the kind of literature you look at and read. And, try to eliminate anything that expresses principles and belief systems that are contrary to the Bible.


• Try to honestly and sincerely examine what kind of people you spend time with. And, try to decide which ones you should spend time with and which ones you should avoid.


• Try to go over your typical conversations and see if they are representative of a true Christian.


• Try to look at what you do together with other people. And, try to decide whether or not you are doing those things the Bible instructs you to do; or, you are doing what the Bible speaks against.
