Gen 1:1 (NIV) In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. There are three persons or parts to God: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. That doesn’t make three God’s because they are united in a way far beyond human comprehension. Deu 6:4 (NIV) Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. They have three different functions; but, as one God. 1 Tim 2:5-6 (NIV) For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ who gave Himself as a ransom for all men--the testimony given in its proper time.

Eccl 8:16-17 (NIV) When I applied my mind to know wisdom and to observe man’s labor on earth--his eyes not seeing sleep day or night--then I saw all that God has done. No one can comprehend what goes on under the sun. Despite all his efforts to search it out, man cannot discover its meaning. Even if a wise man claims he knows, he cannot really comprehend it. There was a time when Solomon could understand and appreciate the things of God. But, once he walked away, he lost the true meaning of life.

1 Cor 2:14 (NIV) The man WITHOUT THE SPIRIT does not accept the things that come from the SPIRIT of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. Even though the Holy Spirit wasn’t made available to everyone during Solomon’s day, God always gave the leaders of the Children of Israel His Spirit. Solomon could have stopped consulting his mind and started consulting the Holy Spirit that was given to him.

Eccl 9:1 (NIV) So I reflected on all this and concluded that the righteous and the wise and what they do are in God’s hands, but no man knows whether love or hate awaits him. Solomon had the first five books of the Bible; he had God visit with him on two major occasions, he had the Holy Spirit, and he had the wisdom God gave him. For him to reject the five books of Moses, the things God told him personally, and the Holy Spirit and try to just use his wisdom was very foolish. It left him in mental torment.

But no man knows whether love or hate awaits him: Solomon decided to get all his research and meaning of life through what he experienced with his body, through what he could see in the world, and through yielding to all the temptations of the devil. Here is what the Holy Spirit would have done: 1 Cor 2:9-10 (NIV) However, as it is written: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him”--but God has revealed it to us by His Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

You are heading into great training and knowledge. As you yield to the Holy Spirit, you are yielding to the One Who can open your mind and lead you into all truth. That will empower you to resist all the torture Solomon was going through. Let Jesus take you through what is available to you through the Holy Spirit, the Word of God, and His training.

Now the Holy Spirit is available to everyone, not just special people who needed Him for leadership purposes. Acts 2:17-18 (NIV) In the last days, God says, I will pour out my SPIRIT on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my SPIRIT in those days, and they will prophesy.

John 16:7-8 (NIV) But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. When He comes, He will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment. The Holy Spirit makes sure people know when they do wrong by creating guilt in their conscience. You had the Holy Spirit speaking to you through your conscience most of your life. Just as soon as you got old enough to be responsibile for right and wrong, the Holy Spirit kept you informed.

Rom 8:9 (NIV) You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the SPIRIT, if the SPIRIT of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the SPIRIT of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. You aren’t like Solomon; it is impossible to live the Christian life without the power and influence of the Holy Spirit. He lives in you and provides everything you have to have to be a Christian. If you were to reject the Holy Spirit, you would also be rejecting Jesus. The Holy Spirit is also the Spirit of Christ AND the Spirit of God.

John 16:13 (NIV) But when He, the SPIRIT of TRUTH, comes, He will guide you into all TRUTH. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come. The Holy Spirit explaining the Bible to you will make sure you get the truth so you can resist the lies of your body, the world, and the devil. As you study and read your Bible, the Holy Spirit will assist you in understanding what you are reading.

He will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment: The Holy Spirit IS the SPIRIT of TRUTH. He provides you with the truth that empowers you to resist the drives of your body, the influences of the world, and the temptations of the devil. When the Holy Spirit warns you about something you are about to do, something you are doing, or something you did, He provides you with the power-truth of the Bible to resist those things.

He will guide you into all TRUTH: Jesus’ power-truth is given to you through the Spirit of truth. Then you use what the Holy Spirit gives you and successfully resist all those things that are trying to hurt you. The Holy Spirit is in you and is your unity, bond, and relationship with Jesus. He has one agenda: To take the things of Jesus and make sure you know them, understand them, know how to live them, and to empower you to live them. Through the Holy Spirit, you and Jesus will work together and live in oneness.

John 16:13-15 (NIV) But when He, the SPIRIT of truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to Me by taking from what is Mine and making it known to you. All that belongs to the Father is Mine. That is why I said the SPIRIT will take from what is Mine and make it known to you.

The Holy Spirit is your path, your connection, and your relationship with God. He supplies you all you need to be able to get all the things of God the Father and God the Son. He speaks to you Spirit to spirit; so, there is a direct connect to Him, the Holy Spirit, to Jesus, your Lord, and to your heavenly Father. 1 Cor 6:19-20 (NIV) Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy SPIRIT, Who is in you, Whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.
