Jesus is THE TRUTH that we see being presented in the gospel message. John 5:24 (NIV) I (Jesus) tell you the truth, whoever hears My word and believes Him Who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. Now that this has happened to you, you can live a life in your business, marriage, friendships, family, and with enemies that will be extremely successful.

Since Jesus is the source of the belt of truth, we are putting Him on when we put on the belt of truth. This makes it possible for us to use the belt of truth in a very powerful way. When we are wearing the belt of truth, they are the moments when we share The Truth about Him. Jesus is The Truth; the message about Him is The Truth; and, the Bible is The Truth. ANYTIME we are basing our thoughts, feelings, words, and deeds on these things, we are keeping the belt of truth on.

John 17:17 (NIV) SANCTIFY them by The Truth; Your Word is Truth. Let’s see how Jesus’ belt of truth works as we go about our daily life.

• To be sanctified is to allow Jesus to empower you to only do good things to yourself, other people, and His plan.
• To allow yourself to be sanctified is to allow Jesus to install His truth in You.
• To allow Jesus to install His truth in you is to allow Him to teach you the Bible.
• To allow Him to teach you the Bible is to let Him help you know what it says (knowledge), to know what it means (understanding), and to know how it is to be applied to your life (wisdom).

Can you see how Jesus is going to teach you the principles of the Bible and them lead you into a successful life? You will no longer be basing your decisions on world knowledge. Rather than patterning your business, marriage, friendships, family, dealing with enemies and competitors, and life in general on world systems, you will have Jesus’ knowledge, understanding, wisdom, and power; THAT brings a successful life.

John 8:32 (NIV) Then you will know The Truth, and The Truth will set you free. When the Bible says that we will be set free by The Truth, it doesn’t mean that not lying to people will set us free. It is saying that receiving the message of truth about Jesus, Who is The Truth, will set us free. The freedom it is talking about is salvation and all that comes with it.

John 8:36 (NIV) So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. When the Son sets us free, we are free to stop lying to people. But, we are freed from a lot more than that. AND, we are free to do business, be married, have friends, have a family, deal with enemies, and live life with tremendous life success principles; we are free indeed.

In other words, we are free to be changed in every aspect of our lives. This belt of truth is made available to us by the Holy Spirit through the character of Jesus. It can hold us together, support all of our armor, and keep important aspects of our lives and spirituality from falling off.

This is the kind of truth that sets us free. It is known as “the” truth. There are a lot of true things in this world. And they could be described as truth. But, they are not “the” truth. The Truth is from Jesus and it sets us free from issues of our body, cares, worries, problems, and difficulties of the world, and satanic attacks of the devil. That is a lot of different from not just telling a lie.

Rom 1:25 (NIV) They exchanged The Truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--Who is forever praised. Amen. Just like there are lies that are opposite from that which is true. There is a type of lie that is the opposite of The Truth.

There are lies that are opposed to The Truth and cause people to worship and serve the creation rather than the Creator. The world teaches us to believe in ourselves. This cheats people out of getting the powerful blessings and help they could get from believing in Jesus. The world teaches us to have self-confidence and self-esteem. This cheats us out of getting our confidence and esteem from Jesus. The world teaches us that when we take advantage of other people, “It’s nothing personal, it’s just business.” The world teaches a lot of things that sound good but are lies that are opposing the truth of Jesus.
