1 Cor 15:48 As was the earthly man [Adam], so are those who are of the earth; and as is the man from heaven [Jesus], so also are those who are of heaven.

As was the earthly man [Adam], so are those who are of the earth: Those who are born on this earth and refuse to be born again to our heavenly Father, will remain a person of the earth. And as is the man from heaven [Jesus], so also are those who are of heaven: Those who take advantage of Jesus’ provisions of salvation will be born again and be a person of heaven. That means you and your current body are to be devoted to heavenly issues.

Being born again doesn’t change the natural aspects of your life. You will continue to eat, sleep, work, have relationships, and live a human life. It just means that you will start learning how to use your current body to do good things for yourself, others, and God’s plan. It also means that you will begin learning how to stop doing bad things to yourself, others, and God’s plan.

1 Cor 15:49 And just as we have borne the likeness of the earthly man [Adam], so shall we bear the likeness of the Man from heaven [Jesus].

And just as we have borne the likeness of the earthly man [Adam]: Before you were born as a human, you never knew what humans were like. After birth, all this was new to you. You had to learn a whole lot of things about how to live on this planet in a human body. It took a lot of training and learning; but, you have learned a lot about it over the years.

And just as we have borne the likeness of the earthly man [Adam], so shall we bear the likeness of the Man from heaven [Jesus]: If you are willing to become a Christian, spiritual life will be totally new to you; but you will learn it just like you learned how to live as a human. Like we have said, it won’t be a matter of learning everything all over again. It will just be a process of you learning how to do the things you did before; but, with different attitudes and character.

1 Cor 15:50 I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.

Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God: You won’t be able, as a matter of fact, you CAN’T enter God’s Kingdom as a human. You will only inherit God’s Kingdom by being born as a new creation through Jesus. Nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable: Even if you could get into God’s Kingdom as a human, you would eventually die and lose it.

If you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, He will set you free from the spiritual disease of sin and the hurts and pain you are experiencing through spirituality. He will recreate you as a being who never dies and is free from problems with spirituality. You will remain as a human for the rest of your life here; but, then when you die, you will start your eternal life in a heavenly body.

1 Cor 15:51 (NIV) Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all SLEEP, but we will all be changed--

We will not all SLEEP: Here death is called sleep because it best represents the death of a Christian. We will lose consciousness for a short period and then will wake up at that special moment when Jesus takes us to His Kingdom. It is explaining that everyone won’t die before Jesus comes to take us to His Kingdom.

We will all be changed: It is also explaining that those who die and those who are still alive, when Jesus comes, will both be changed from a person having a human body to one with a heavenly body. Just like God has been able to give you a human body, a planet to live on, and a human life to live, He will give you a heavenly body to live in, a new heaven and earth to live on, and an eternal life to live.
