Submitting Your Body Through The Bible

Opening Four Doors To God
Mark 12:30 (NIV) Love the Lord your God with all your HEART and with all your SOUL
and with all your MIND and with all your STRENGTH.

Yielding To The Word Of God To Open Your Soul To God

Your Soul Gives You, As Human, A Chance To Receive Truth
As A Child Of God, You Delight In God’s Truth
You may not decide to apply The Six Biblical Principles to your body for various reasons. Let Jesus take you through a few of them so you won’t make a mistake.
  • Prov 16:25 (NIV) There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death. You may read the Bible and not see anything wrong with something it is saying is wrong.

  • Gal 5:19-21 (NIV) The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery (excessive indulgence in sensual pleasures); idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. Many of these sins provide your body with extreme pleasure; others are at least fun doing; and some of them are used to help you dull the pain you are suffering from the issues of life. You may not DESIRE to be set free from all of these sins; but, those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. God can’t and won’t allow any of these things into His eternal Kingdom because they would destroy it.

  • Jer 17:9 (NIV) The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? You may feel like you already are doing the right things and don’t need to apply the principles to an area of your life. But, it is best to take anything to God that causes you to question its rightness.

  • John 8:31-32 (NIV) To the Jews who had believed Him, Jesus said, “If you hold to My teaching, you are really My disciples. Then you will KNOW the truth, and the truth will set you free.” You must KNOW a truth before you can “do what it takes” to get it to set you free. You won’t be able to apply the principles to any of those things you don’t know are in the Bible.

Apply The Six Biblical Principles To Your Problems
You MUST Have A Problem To Apply Them To
Rom 7:24 (NIV) What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? If you learn and understand the truths in Romans 7:15-25, you will see a lot of mistakes and misdeeds you are committing. The Holy Spirit will be speaking to your conscience and pointing out things that you need to change. So, you need to allow Jesus to teach you and empower you to make those changes. Provided that you aren’t reacting to your conscience and forgiving yourself, justifying yourself, excusing yourself, or getting your friends to tell you it isn’t your fault, you will cooperate with Jesus and “do what it takes” to be set free.

Truth Reveals Problems
Jesus said in Matthew 7:24-27 (NIV): “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

YOUR TRUTH

The Eight Actions That Can
Come Through Discontentment
The Wretched Person Journey
Rom 7:24 (NIV) What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Rom 7:25 (NIV) Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin. The Holy Spirit doesn’t show you what is wrong with you to hurt you, depress you, frustrate you, or accuse you. It is like the mechanic diagnosing your car; they aren’t being critical; they are telling you what’s wrong so you can GET IT FIXED! Jesus wants to gently take you through your problems so you and He can GET THEM FIXED!

You NEED Discontentment
Mat 5:4 (NIV) Blessed are those who MOURN, for they will be comforted. Discontintment helps you not only get your body changed, it helps you MOURN over things that it have driven, forced, and tricked you into doing. As Jesus takes you through the healing process of winning over your body, He may want you to repent, cry, or release things that you feel bad about. If this happens, this MOURNING process will heal various areas of your damaged heart.

God’s Truth Is Changing You
Rom 7:24 (NIV) What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death?Discontentment has several important characteristics in it. It brings you to a place where you and Jesus can go to work on your body and bring it under your and His control. If you allow Jesus to take you through eight important steps, He will help you join Him in “doing what it takes” to win over your body. Romans 7:25 is the next verse after the “wretched person” prayer. Verse 25 is a powerful verse that Jesus wants to use to take you set-by-step into truth about you and your relationship with Him.

Jesus’ Training Through Romans 7:25
Rom 7:25 (NIV) Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin. Your MIND is in your spirit; the SINFUL NATURE is in your body. So, here are eight things you need to be aware of and need to keep in mind.

Because of your training and work with Jesus:
1. Thanks be to God: You are now looking to God for the answer to the problem with the sinful nature of your body of death.

2. Through Jesus Christ our Lord: You now see the source of the answer to be in Jesus Christ your Lord and His provisions.

3. Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord: You now have a thankfulness and excitement in the fact that there is an answer and that answer is on the way.

4. I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law: You now understand that you are a spirit being and your mind, in your inner spirit being, delights in the things of God.
5. But in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin: You now see that the SINFUL NATURE is in your body.

6. I myself, in my mind, am a slave to God’s law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin: You now see where these two parts have their allegiance (the mind of your spirit and the sinful nature of your body).

7. SO THEN, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin: You now recognize that the answer from Jesus has not yet been applied to your body.

8. I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin: You now accept the fact that you, the spirit person, are a slave to God’s law even though your body is not yet yielding to that law. You now realize that the deeds of your body are not representative of you a spirit being.

What’s Next?
Now that you understand the truth and spiritual growth that are coming from your discontentment, let Jesus help you take a look at where you go from here. Rom 8:1-2 (NIV) Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, BECAUSE through Christ Jesus THE LAW of the Spirit of life set me free from THE LAW of sin and death. This is your next powerful truth that moves you forward into winning over your body.

A lot of Christians know about being set free from the law of sin and death as it relates to righteousness being credited to their record. But, because of constant failures through misdeeds of their body, they often assume that, that is all there is. This Scripture is talking about three types of freedom that you really need to keep in mind.

Three Aspects Of Freedom
1. FREEDOM THROUGH A PERFECT RECORD: Rom 5:19 (NIV) For just as through the disobedience of the one man [Adam] the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the One Man [Jesus] the many will be made righteous. You are free from the law of sin and death in that Jesus DIED in your place. Now you can no longer be punished for the sins you have committed in your past. Salvation provided you forgiveness for all your past sins.

2. FREEDOM THROUGH CONTINUED PROTECTION: Rom 5:1-2 (NIV) Therefore, since we have been JUSTIFIED through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through Whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.

Jesus also DIED in your place for the sins you are UNWILLFULLY committing now AND those you will UNWILLFULLY commit in your future. His blood turned these UNWILLFULL “sins” into misdeeds of your body so you will not fall under a penalty and punishment for these current and future activities either. This gives you the time you need to learn and apply spiritual growth principles that will set you free from the misdeeds of your body. Justification keeps you protected from present and future sins by keeping your perfect record adjusted to perfection.

3. FREEDOM THROUGH THE POWER TO LIVE THE LIFE: Col 1:22-23a (NIV) But now He has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in His sight, without blemish and free from accusation--IF you continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope held out in the gospel.

The third aspect of freedom is in the area of the power of the Holy Spirit over your body. Jesus ROSE from the dead so as to provide you with a new way of living THROUGH YOUR BODY. This is a power and freedom that not only empties you of misdeeds, it fills your body with godly activities called righteousness (good deeds that are beneficial to you and others). Sanctification or spiritual growth start empowering you to actually treat yourself and others with righteous words and deeds that you were unable to produce before.

Now That You Are Free
Time To Grow Spiritually
John 8:36 (NIV) So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. Many new and untrained Christians don’t realize that they got their God-given free will back at salvation and justification. So, they are surprised when God doesn’t take over their lives at salvation and justification. They get confused when He doesn’t cause, make, or drive them into righteousness like Satan and their body drove them into sin. Jesus made you free indeed; that means that YOU have to “do what it takes” before He will give you His help.
