YOUR THOUGHTS
Submitting Your Mind To Jesus Through Study
Luke 24:45 (NIV) Then He (Jesus) opened their MINDS so they could understand the Scriptures. Study is useless without Jesus’ power-understanding being put in you. You have the Holy Spirit inside you; He wants to guide you into all truths. John 16:13-14 (NIV) But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into ALL truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to Me by taking from what is Mine and making it known to you. Study is a very important thing for your brain and MIND. But, what you study makes all the difference as to what you store in your brain and what you expose your MIND to.
Getting Your Mind Healed
Being Exposed To Supernatural Things
Luke 24:38 (NIV) He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your MINDS? The world has trained you to only believe what you can prove with your five senses. If it doesn’t make sense to you, then you have a hard time believing it. So, when you enter into God’s world, you are exposed to Bible truths that are very different and much more supernatural than you are used to. This takes you into suspicion, caution, skepticism, doubt, resistance, and evaluation. Your brain and mind are much weaker and limited than God and His truths. Many of His truths are way over your head; you don’t have any point of reference to compare them to. So, as you weigh the Bible’s information using your brain and mind, you can often reject the truth.
Exposure To Familar Terms
Luke 21:14 (NIV) But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves. This is a familiar term, “make up your mind.” You have done this lots of times as a human; however, if you use you human training, human effort, and human experiences to “make up your mind,” you will fail this assignment. For you to “make up your mind” by yielding it to Jesus, you will have to use a TOTALLY different system. It is the system you have been learning throughout these studies.

Using A Familiar System
Jesus won’t empower you to “make up your mind”, if you don’t DESIRE Him to. He won’t help you “make up your mind” if you don’t STUDY the Scriptures that guide you into making it up on the right truths. He won’t help you “make up your mind” if you don’t PRAY and ask Him to. He won’t help you “make up your mind” if you don’t BELIEVE He has empowered you to do it. He won’t help you “make up your mind” if you don’t LOVE people enough to show them how to “make up their mind.” He won’t help you “make up your mind” if you don’t take FAITH-ACTION and live on the basis of the fact that Jesus has empowered you to “make up your mind.”
Replacing World Training
Mark 8:33 (NIV) But when Jesus turned and looked at His disciples, He rebuked Peter. “Get behind Me, Satan!” He said. “You do not have in MIND the things of God, but the things of men.” Peter was using his world training and his human way of thinking. So, when he tried to talk Jesus into not going to the cross, he was way off base. Things that make perfect sense to you can be TOTALLY wrong. It isn’t until you allow Jesus to crowd out your human and world training that you see things like they really are. It will be like you have been living in total darkness and have finally had the light turned on.
This is what Jesus is doing for you: Luke 8:16-17 (NIV) No one lights a lamp and hides it in a jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, he puts it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.
