The objective of the breastplate of righteousness is to cause us to be permeated with righteousness: Phil 1:11 (NIV) Filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ--to the glory and praise of God.

The Scriptures train us in how to put on and use the breastplate of righteousness: 2 Tim 3:16 (NIV) All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.

We will be rewarded for our taking advantage of the breastplate of righteousness: 2 Tim 4:8 (NIV) Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day--and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for His appearing.

Growing spiritually to maturity is a process where we learn how to put on and successfully use the breastplate of righteousness: Heb 5:13 (NIV) Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness.

God’s discipline helps us get our breastplate of righteousness on: Heb 12:11 (NIV) No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

Peacemakers are those who preach the gospel message of righteousness and help others get their breastplate of righteousness on: James 3:18 (NIV) Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.

We get rewarded for putting our breastplate of righteousness on and helping others get theirs on: 2 Pet 3:13 (NIV) But in keeping with His promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.
