Jesus’ Helmet Of Salvation
Is Trying To Protect Us From Evil
Mat 25:31-33 (NIV) WHEN the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, He WILL sit on His throne in heavenly glory. All the nations WILL be gathered before Him, and He WILL separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He WILL put the sheep on His right and the goats on His left. Why is Jesus so strict in His judgments; why does He insist that we become people who do what He requires?

First, let’s take a look at what sin is doing to our current world situation: Rom 3:10-18 (NIV) As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.” “Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit.” “The poison of vipers is on their lips.” “Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.” “Their feet are swift to shed blood; ruin and misery mark their ways, and the way of peace they do not know.” “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

Where Did All This Evil Come From?
Gen 3:6 (NIV) When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. It all came from this one sin! Sin is extremely contagious, and deadly! The helmet of salvation is designed to keep sin from destroying us.

Now let’s take a look at the future of those on Jesus’ right hand who allowed the helmet of salvation to protect their command center. Mat 25:34 (NIV) Then the King will say to those on His right, “Come, you who are blessed by My Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.”

People And A Kingdom Free From Evil
Here is a new heaven and earth where no sin is allowed to get in. Rev 21:1-4 (NIV) Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
People And A Kingdom Free From Evil
Except For Just One Sin
What would happen to a place like God’s new heaven and earth, if one sin was allowed to come into it? One person with one sin would bring it down and destroy it. That is what Adam and Eve did to this planet. Rom 5:12 (NIV) Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned. Sin entered this world and it only took one person to get it here. THEREFORE, Jesus cannot and will not allow one person into His Kingdom even if they only have one sin. If they refuse to give up and be cleansed of ALL their sins, they CANNOT come in.

God’ Will
2 Pet 3:9 (NIV) The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting ANYONE to perish, but EVERYONE to come to repentance. For anyone and everyone to come into this new heaven and new earth, ALL they have to do is allow Jesus to cure them of all their sins. Once a person is completely set free from all sin and remains that way until they leave this planet, they qualify to come, you who are blessed by My Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.

ALL CAN BE Protected By The Helmet Of Salvation
Now, do you understand why the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil (1 Pet 3:12)? Jesus provided the helmet of salvation for every person everywhere. Rom 5:18 (NIV) Consequently, just as the result of one trespass [Adam] was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness (Jesus) was justification that brings life for all men. If anyone fails Jesus’ final exam, it will only be because they refused Jesus’ provisions and help.

John 3:17-18 (NIV) For God DID NOT send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already BECAUSE he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. The word WHOEVER includes everyone; ANYONE can come to Jesus and be cleansed and cured of their infectious disease of sin. Then once that happens, Jesus starts teaching them His principles so they will know how to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, befriend strangers, clothe those needing clothing, and visit the sick and imprisoned. And, with Jesus’ principles they will be able to do it for everyone for the rest of their lives.
