“The Helmet Of Salvation”

The Helmet Of Salvation Purpose
Mat 25:31-36 (NIV) WHEN the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, He WILL sit on His throne in heavenly glory. All the nations WILL be gathered before Him, and He WILL separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He WILL put the sheep on His right and the goats on His left.

Then the King WILL say to those on His right, “Come, you who are blessed by My Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited Me in, I needed clothes and you clothed Me, I was sick and you looked after Me, I was in prison and you came to visit Me.”
Let’s look at the Scriptures that help us take advantage of the helmet of salvation so we will be able to live this kind of life.

Helmet Of Salvation Scriptures Continued
Without the helmet of salvation, people can be given over to a depraved mind: Rom 1:28 (NIV) Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, He gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. When the thoughts and feelings of Jesus aren’t flowing into us exclusively through the helmet of salvation, evil, depraved, satanic thoughts can enter our mind. This not only hurts us, it keeps us from helping those people mentioned in Jesus’ final exam. Then, when that happens, it keeps the people of the world from seeing how amazing Jesus’ principles work in real life.

The helmet of salvation protects our minds from the laws of our body: Rom 7:23 (NIV) But I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. Those Christians who are still a prisoner of the law of sin at work within their members, may believe in the principles of Jesus. But, they aren’t able to go out and put them into practice. That means people don’t get to experience them and see them in real life in their marriage, business, friendships, entertainment, and circumstances.

The helmet of salvation helps us yield to the control of the Holy Spirit: Rom 8:6 (NIV) The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace. Once the Holy Spirit is given control of our mind through us wearing the helmet of salvation, He starts leading us into the principles of Jesus that not only help us pass our final exam, it brings God’s blessings into the lives of large quantities of people. We know how to teach people to win at life.
Without the helmet of salvation, a person becomes hostile to God: Rom 8:7 (NIV) The sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. If the principles of Jesus don’t make sense to us, we will resist them. The helmet of salvation helps us understand and agree with Jesus’ principles. We will see how everyone’s needs can be met without theft, cheating, lying, misleading, selfishness, and competition.

The helmet of salvation helps us unite our mind with the mind of the Holy Spirit: Rom 8:27 (NIV) And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will. Once we start learning Jesus’ principles for how to help everyone get their needs met for the rest of their lives, we need the power of God to make it work. This is when the Holy Spirit starts interceding for us so our circumstances will line up with God’s plan. This is when in all things God works for the good of us who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose (Rom 8:28). That is a life based on the principles of Jesus.

The helmet of salvation helps renew our mind: Rom 12:2 (NIV) Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is--His good, pleasing and perfect will. It is impossible for us to help everyone get all their needs met for the rest of their lives, if we don’t know what God’s will is. But, with a renewed mind, we will know; and that comes by us wearing our helmet of salvation all the time.

The helmet of salvation helps us do the right thing: Rom 14:13 (NIV) Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother’s way. This is where we learn how to get along with the people around us; we all become a mighty supporting team. Rather than competing, defeating, beating, getting ahead of people, and winning over them, we support, assist, share, cooperate with, and join one another.

The helmet of salvation helps us be in unity with fellow Christians: 1 Cor 1:10 (NIV) I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought. People that would typically be our competition become our fellow workers; people who would be our enemies become our friends; people who are strangers to us become a part of our family; people who don’t have anything to offer us become our supporters and contributors.
