In Study Two - The Submission Courses, Jesus will be helping you examine things you need to be constantly allowing to enter into your life. There are four doors that you must allow Jesus to open to God and the powerful provisions of God. But, before you can start opening those vital doors to God, you must be able to identify God’s voice and influence when He comes to you.

You need to become familiar with the things of God. If you don’t know the difference between the things of God, the things of the body, the things of the world, and the things of the devil, you are going to be living a very confused, frustrated, and defeated life. Not knowing the difference between these four influences is part of what is causing you your difficulties with alcohol. You opened the door to things that would hurt you; and, once opened, they can be very difficult to be closed.

Your very first assignment in spiritual growth is to IDENTIFY and OBTAIN God and the incredible things He offers. We often think of things in terms of bad and good; there are also things that are right and wrong. Sin is what God named things that are bad or evil; however, God also has plans for you to do those things that are right and best for you and the people around you. Things can hurt and damage you that aren’t sins; they can hurt and damage you just because they aren’t the right or best things for you.

By Jesus taking you through The Submission Courses, He will teach you the difference between the things of God, the things of the body, the things of the world, and the things of the devil; that will change you. Through this training, Jesus will change who you are allowing to communicate with you. And, that will change your thoughts, feelings, attitudes, desires, patterns of life, and your reactions to the environment around you. That will start setting you free from alcohol issues. And, it will start putting things in you that will replace the causes for WHY you are having difficulties with alcohol.

God and the things He offers will be vital to making all the next four studies and efforts work. In these first four studies Jesus will be dealing with your emotions, your body, your attitudes, and your will. He will be showing you how to yield your emotions, body, attitudes, and will to the influence of God. He will help you know when God is working with you so you will be able to yield in these four areas.

The key concept Jesus will be dealing with in these courses is that God and the things of God drive out bad things. They drive out the bad things you do with your body, the debilitating enticements of the world, and the enslaving temptations of the devil. As you and Jesus drive out all of the negative influences by replacing them with the positive influences of God, your struggles, difficulties, and problems with alcohol are forced out. Through submission, Jesus will empower you to only allow the positive effects of God to direct your life.
