Sanctification Deals With Your Body
You Learn That You And Your Body Are Different
Rom 7:19-20 (NIV) For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing. Now IF I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it. You are a spirit being who lives in a body; you are not your body. You, your spirit being, as a Christian, has a “want” for doing good and a “hatred” for doing wrong, bad, or evil. But, your body doesn’t care about right and wrong, good and bad, or righteousness or evil. It just wants its way. It Starts Off Controlling You
Rom 7:22-23 (NIV) For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. Romans 7:15-25 spends quality time getting you ready to accept that human effort and world training will NOT work in Christianity. So, once you get to the place where you realize that: “I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out (Rom 7:18).”, you will start looking outside yourself. You Start Crying Out For Help
Rom 7:24 (NIV) What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Once you give up all your abilities, strengths, talents, training, and skills, you are ready to learn how to win over your body. And, you are ready to learn how to win over your problem with drugs. Jesus is your answer to all your Christian, spiritual needs. He is alive, powerful, brilliant, and loves you more than you love yourself. BUT, there are some things you MUST know about Jesus. Because you have been made in the image of God, you have a God-given free will. You are not going to be programed like a robot to do the right things; you are not going to be forced like a slave to do the right things; you must “do what it takes” to do the right things.
