“The Lord’s Prayer For New Christians”

Hallowed be Your name,

Hollowed
Hollowed Has A Special Meaning
Jesus, I haven’t had a lot of experiences with my heavenly Father yet. So, teach me that hollowed means His relationship with me is perfectly and completely good. Teach me that He knows everything and will use that power to never make a mistake with me. Teach me that hollowed means He is all powerful; He will never allow anything wrong, bad, or evil to force its way into my life. Teach me that hollowed means God IS love; He is the only One, including myself, that loves me with a supernatural love. Teach me that hollowed means He has given me a free will; He is THE ONLY ONE Who honors that gift. Help me truly understand the word “hollowed,” so I can say it with respect, appreciation, love, and praise.

Self Built Walls
Jesus, teach me that if I didn’t feel any special feelings at the moment I used this prayer to enter into God’s family and Kingdom or still aren’t, then show me whether or not I have certain barriers that I have built up to protect my heart. If that is the case, then it may be hard for me to feel love from or for just about anyone. Let the words in this prayer help me grow in my love and appreciation for my Father.

A Father That Can Be Trusted
Jesus, teach me that hollowed means that my heavenly Father is pure; He has excluded all lying, cheating, stealing, hatred, murder, and evil from His being. Show me that, that means I can open my heart to Him and trust Him. Make it clear to me that He is love, truth, life, and the way to purity; reveal to me that He is NEVER going to hurt me. Help me see that it means I can stop trying to protect myself. Teach me that the things that make His relationship with me such an awesome relationship are His attitudes and character.
Experiencing Who God Is
Learning How To Lower Your Guard
Jesus, help me find that God is perfect; help me see that I can completely trust Him. I have been mistreated by a lot of people. If I hadn’t kept my guard up, the issues of life would have crushed me; but, help me understand that I need to let my guard down now. As I let my guard down, let it start with trusting God in my relationship with Him. Later, help me learn how to trust Him during my relationships with others.

Grace And Mercy
Jesus, help me pick a safe place for prayer; let me go to a place where I won’t be distracted or interrupted. Show me that I need a place where I can experience who God is. Help me see that I need time to experience God’s holiness, godliness, purity, and righteousness. Teach me that hollowed means His is gracious and merciful; but, these will just be words until I allow Him to help me understand that He IS gracious and merciful. Help me understand that if I say these next words, I am acknowledging that I am accepting the fact that He is going to give me constant blessings and miracles I do not deserve (grace). Show me that I am also accepting the fact that He is NOT going to let me be punished, hurt, or damaged for the things I deserve to be punished for or deserve to have happen to me (mercy).

Opening Your Heart To Your Heavenly Father
Jesus, I appreciate to some degree these two gifts, and say: “Hallowed be Your name.”
