Jesus, help me understand that the reason there is so much suffering on earth is because people are being allowed to do what they want; they have a God-given free will. And, show me that the reason they want to hurt, cheat, lie, mislead, bully, and gossip is because they don’t have God’s Kingdom attitudes and character inside them. Help me see that through all this suffering, God is giving me a complete picture of what life is like when people are free to do anything THEY want. Up to the point where I decided to accept You as my Savior, Lord, and King, I had been running my life with freedom of WILL. I chose the way I am, the way I think, and the way I do the things I do; I now pray and ask for the way GOD does them.

Jesus, for most of my life, my WILL has been in charge of my life. Since I have become a Christian, help me gradually learn how to appreciate God’s will. Teach me that God’s WILL is pure, fair, gracious, merciful, and sinless. Help me understand that when I allow my will to rule my life, I will USE people for meeting my financial, sexual, physical, and emotional needs. But, as I continue to pray The Lord’s Prayer, I will become more and more WILLING to ask my heavenly Father to make these Kingdom changes in my philosophies, thoughts, feeling, words, and deeds. Help me stop USING people and start working together with them.

Jesus, show me that we won’t actually have world peace until You are ruling this world. But, help me see that certain parts of this world are already experiencing peace. People all around the world have made You their Savior, Lord, and King. They have already joined God’s family and Kingdom and are enjoying His peace. And, they are learning how to share this peace with those around them. The peace of the Kingdom of God is flowing into more and more people. Thank You for making me a part of that peace movement.

Jesus, I have wanted peace to come to me; but, a lot of the time I have refused to “do what it takes” to allow peace to flow out of me to others. Make it clear to me that as I pray these prayers and study the Bible, I will start enjoying some of the aspects of God’s Kingdom. Then as I start praying for others and sharing the Bible with them, I will start surrounding myself with other members of God’s Kingdom. That will bring God’s WILL on earth as it is in heaven; and, I now pray for that.

Jesus, I have wanted to continue to exercise my free will while wanting others to limit their behavior so I could have peace around me. I felt like my life would be wonderful if people would only do what I want. BUT, teach me that, that isn’t the way to get peace. Help me see that making everyone cater to my will enslaves them. Help me see that God has a much better way; and, it brings peace to everyone.

Jesus teach me the principle in Luke 6:38 again. Help me give, and it will be given to me. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into my lap. For with the measure I use, it will be measured to me.” Help me understand that giving people peace shows them how to share peace back to me. Help me see that praying for them to have God’s will working in their life puts peace in their heart. Establish it in my heart that sharing is the answer to peace; in God’s plan, people will have peaceful relationships with many other people.

Jesus, help me understand that in everything, I must do to others what I would have them do to me, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets (Mat 7:12). Show me that as I pray for myself AND those around me, I will be inviting the power of God to come inside me so I can give OTHERS those things I want. Then, because I have prayed for those around me, I am releasing God’s power to help them give out those things I have given them. Help me accept the fact that the Matthew 7:12 and Luke 6:38 principles will transform my relationships with people. Now, help me see how these same principles will affect my circumstances.

Jesus, I know that in ALL things God works for my good because I am one of those who love Him, I am also one of those who have been called according to His purpose (Rom 8:28).

Jesus help me see that I am not only inviting God into my relationships, I am inviting Him into my circumstances. Show me that even those events that happen to me that look bad, God will MAKE them work out for my good. Teach me that, as I and the circumstances of my life improve, people are going to want what I have. I will be able to show them how to make You their Savior, Lord, and King. Then, the more people become Christians, the more God’s will, will be done on earth as it is being done in heaven.

Jesus, this is what I want for me and the people of this earth. So, I now say these words: “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
