“The Shoes Of The Gospel Of Peace”

Shoes of the Gospel of Peace Scriptures Continued

1. Putting On The Shoes Of The Gospel Of Peace
Through Honesty
Jesus, since through God’s mercy I have this ministry, I do not lose heart. Rather, I have renounced secret and shameful ways; I do not use deception, nor do I distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly I commend myself to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, Who is the image of God. For I do not preach myself, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and myself as your servant for Jesus’ sake (2 Cor 4:1-5). Empower me to always live this type of life before all people.

2. Putting On The Shoes Of The Gospel Of Peace
Through Financial Support
Jesus, I will be made rich in every way so that I can be generous on every occasion, and through You, Jesus my generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. This service that I perform is not only supplying the needs of God’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which I have proved myself, men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies my confession of the gospel of Christ, and for my generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. And in their prayers for me their hearts will go out to You, because of the surpassing grace God has given me (2 Cor 9:11-14). Help me always be generous with everything You give me.

3. Putting On The Shoes Of The Gospel Of Peace
Through Holding People To The True Gospel
Jesus, keep me from deserting You,the One Who called me by Your grace. Keep me from turning to a different gospel--which is really no gospel at all. Keep me from listening to people who are trying to throw me into confusion and are trying to pervert Your gospel. Make it clear to me that even if an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one You caused to be preached to me, let him be eternally condemned! As has already been said, so now let it be said again: If anybody is preaching to me a gospel other than what I have accepted, let him be eternally condemned!

Jesus, keep me from trying to win the approval of men, help me always be trying to win the approval of God. Keep me from trying to please men. If I am still trying to please men, I will not be Your servant. I want everyone to know that the gospel I preach is not something that man made up. I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from You, Jesus (Gal 1:6-12).
4. Putting On The Shoes Of The Gospel Of Peace
Through Helping People Believe What They Hear
Jesus, teach me that God doesn’t give me His Spirit and work miracles among me because I observe the law, but because I believe what I heard. Help me consider Abraham: “He believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” Help me understand, then, that those who believe are children of Abraham. The Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: “All nations will be blessed through you.” Reveal to me that those who have faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith (Gal 3:5-9).

5. Putting On The Shoes Of The Gospel Of Peace
Through The Seal Of The Holy Spirit
Jesus keep me aware that I also was included in You when I heard the word of truth, the gospel of my salvation. Having believed, I am marked in You with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit (Eph 1:13).

6. Putting On The Shoes Of The Gospel Of Peace
Through Making Us All One Body
Jesus, reveal to me that this mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in You, Christ Jesus (Eph 3:6). Help me accept this truth into my life.

7. Putting On The Shoes Of The Gospel Of Peace
Through Grace And Power
Jesus, make it true that I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of His power (Eph 3:7).

8. Putting On The Shoes Of The Gospel Of Peace
Through Praying For The Ministry
Jesus, help people to pray for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel (Eph 6:19).
