Workbook For
“Submitting Your Choices”

I Am Praying To Submit My Choices And Decisions

I Am Opening Four Doors To God
Mark 12:30 (NIV) Love the Lord your God with all your HEART and with all your SOUL
and with all your MIND and with all your STRENGTH.

I Am Opening My Mind To God
I Am Praying For The Power
To Submit My Choices And Decisions To Jesus
Jesus, take me into the third step in The Six Biblical Principles which is PRAY. Teach me that there are two major needs for prayer; one comes through The Three Keys To All Of Christianity and the other comes through The Six Biblical Principles. Make it clear to me that I won’t be able to DESIRE, STUDY, PRAY, BELIEVE, LOVE, or take FAITH-ACTION without asking You to help me do it. Teach me that there is a way for me to get Your help in all these six things through the three keys found in Matthew 7:7-8. Mat 7:7-8 (NIV) “ASK and it WILL be given to you; SEEK and you WILL find; KNOCK and the door WILL be opened to you. For everyone who ASKS receives; he who SEEKS finds; and to him who KNOCKS, the door WILL be opened.

Jesus, I may pray a quick prayer just before I make a decision; but, did I pray the right prayer? Also, did I take my decision through The Six Biblical Principles? And, if you did take them through those six principles, did I do it with human effort or Your power? Help me see that Romans 8:26 tells me something very important about myself: Rom 8:26 (NIV) In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. Make it very clear to me that if I don’t use the ASK key in Matthew 7:7-8 to invite You into The Six Biblical Principles, I will find myself trying to use them through my own power and effort. But, if I ASK You to empower me to PRAY, it is then that I get Your power to pray the right kind of prayer and pray it with Your power. Show me that the hard thing for me to learn is, I need Your help constantly.

MY CHOICES AND DECISIONS
I Am Submitting My Mind To Jesus Through Prayer
Jesus, keep explaining The Three Keys To All Of Christianity in Matthew 7:7-11: Mat 7:7-11 (NIV) ASK and it WILL be given to you; SEEK and you WILL find; KNOCK and the door WILL be opened to you. For everyone who ASKS receives; he who SEEKS finds; and to him who KNOCKS, the door WILL be opened. Which of you, if his son ASKS for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he ASKS for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more WILL your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ASK Him! Teach me how I get good gifts from my Father in heaven? He gives them to me when I ASK Him.

Self-Help Rather Than Prayer
Jesus, this kind of prayer is a new experience for me; I don’t use it for any other reason than for talking to God. If I intend to do something myself, I don’t pray about it; I just do it. But, if for any reason I want God’s help, I realize I have to pray some kind of prayer. If I am convinced that my choices and decisions are pretty much always good ones, it is doubtful I will use prayer to make them. If, in my opinion, I have had very good success in my decision making process, I won’t see any great need to pray. But, if things start going wrong, if my decisions start backfiring on me, it is then that I may start considering prayer. Since I want something to happen from a greater source than myself, I pray. Heal me from this kind of attitude.

Human Effort Rather Than Prayer
James 4:1-2 (NIV) What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? You want something but don’t get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, BECAUSE you do not ask God. Jesus, everybody who is anybody fights for things this way; some of the most successful people I know have written books telling me they did it this way. None of the most “successful” people in the world prayed for any of the things they have. So, why should I include prayer in my choices and decisions? Help me see the truth for this issue.

I Am Praying To God
Isa 55:8-9 (NIV) For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts. Jesus, help me see that when I pray, I get God’s knowledge, His knowledge of the future, His understanding, His wisdom, His love, His protection, and His power. Show me that when I pray, God forces EVERYTHING to work for my good: Rom 8:28 (NIV) And we know that IN ALL THINGS God works for the GOOD of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. Make it clear to me that those who appear to succeed without prayer end up being a slave to sin, money, greed, and emptiness. Help me not make ANY decisions without praying about them.
I Have A Permission Based Relationship With God
Jesus, help me understand that God wants me to ONLY get those things that flow through Him. But, He doesn’t want me to get anything through Him that I don’t PRAY and ask for. Gen 1:27 (NIV) So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Make it clear to me that God created me with a God-given free will; I can’t be programed to do the right thing like a robot. God won’t force me like a slave to do the right thing. Help me understand that I have to DESIRE it or God won’t do it for me. And, help me see that the way for me to invite God into what I want is to PRAY for it. That is me giving God my permission to do what I DESIRE.

Jesus, teach me that a permission based relationship is one where I and God have to have each other’s permission. When I pray, I am giving God my permission to do something for me, in me, with me, or through me. If He answers my prayer positively, then that is Him giving me His permission to have it. Show me that since I lack God’s knowledge, foreknowledge of the future, understanding, wisdom, and love, I will OFTEN ask for things that I am convinced are good for me; but they aren’t. When this happens, I don’t get God’s permission to get them from Him because they aren’t good. I may get them through some other source; but, I won’t get them through PRAYER.

I Am Submitting My Choices And Decisions Through Prayer
Jesus, each day, as I go through these studies, take me through the Biblical truths on the first page. Then on the next page help me spend time praying for all those things You exposed me to. Help me see that if I pray for them with true DESIRE and willingness, You install them in my HEART, SOUL, MIND, and STRENGTH of will. Make it clear to me that I have been praying a lot of prayers that I may not remember; but, You remember them. Teach me that each one of those prayers have become like spiritual food for me. Just like I may not remember what I ate yesterday, however, that food is feeding my body right now. Teach me that, that is the way these PRAYERS are for my spiritual growth.
