Jesus, help me know when wrong things are trying to get into my life; also, help me join You in not wanting them in me. Help me understand that the full armor of God only deals with external things; AND, it only deals with external things I don’t WANT coming into my life. If I don’t see anything wrong with something, You and my armor will let it in. Deal with wrong things I am constantly allowing to enter into my life. Empower me to get a better grasp of what You want in my life, so my full armor of God won’t constantly be failing me.

Jesus, in my first study, You dealt with closing the doors of my will to wrong things. Then in the second study, You dealt with me getting things out that were already in me. Now You are talking to me about keeping my life clean and pure from external contaminations. I am asking You to empower and teach me how to WILLINGLY put on, keep on, and use the full armor of God skillfully.

Since the armor of God is made up of the things from You, Jesus. Help me submit my will and myself to You; as I do, help me increase in effectiveness, power, and quality in my resistive armor. Let my armor automatically resist the efforts of Satan against me. Make my relationship with You be awesome so my armor will be able to do an awesome job of warding off the flaming arrows of Satan.

Jesus, help me understand that most parts of my armor are stationary. Since that is the case, help my objective to be to stand. Teach me that I don’t have to do anything with the stationary parts of my armor. Help me accept the fact that all I have to do is put them on and leave them on. Since letting them increase and wearing them is my only responsibility, help me accept the assignment of standing steadfast.

Jesus, teach me how and empower me to put on the full armor of God so that I can take my STAND against the devil’s schemes (Eph 6:11). Help me not run, walk, or dodge. Help me wear the armor and stay right where I am. Help me stand on the provisions and victory You provide. Show me that I am not trying to defeat Satan; You have already defeated him. Convince me that I am not trying to get the victory over Him; I already have that.

Heb 2:14 (NIV) Since the children have flesh and blood, He too shared in their humanity so that by His death He might DESTROY him who holds the power of death--that is, the devil. Teach me that as long as I am standing with my armor on through You, I am standing in complete victory over Satan.

1 Cor 15:55-58 (NIV) “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. LET NOTHING MOVE YOU. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

Jesus, empower me to understand this victory over death. Let me cry out: “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” Reveal to me that the sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. I now shout out: But thanks be to God! You gave me the victory through You, my Lord Jesus Christ. Empower me, therefore, to stand firm and LET NOTHING MOVE me. Let me always give myself fully to Your work, Lord, because I know that my labor in You is not in vain (1 Cor 15:55-58).

Jesus, teach me the difference between hope and faith. Show me that hope is based on future events. Show me that my warfare against Satan is dealing with a victory I already possess in You. Make it clear to me that, that is why You gave me a shield of faith rather than a shield of hope. AND, teach me that this is why I am standing rather than attacking.

Jesus, Since the moving parts are the sword of the Spirit and the shield of faith, teach me how to always start the action with submission to You. Help me never do anything without first establishing my submission to You. Then as You and I resist, we will automatically send Satan in the opposite direction of my life and ministry.
