Workbook For
“The Full Armor Of God”

The Warrior
Jesus, I accept this statement from Your Bible as creative words: Eph 6:10 (NIV) Finally, BE strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. I yield to You speaking this strength and mighty power into me. Help me see that doing everything to stand doesn’t just consist of me getting the full armor of God on. Help me to first allow You to start with internal sanctification (spiritual cleansing through growth). Since Your full armor of God protection is from the outside in, and, since You and it only resist those things I am wanting to be defended from, I have to allow You to produce Sanctification Spiritual Growth for my inside; but, once I have started doing that, help me be ready to have Your preventative warfare equipment on.

Jesus, since I actually need the full armor of God on prior to Your Sanctifying work, if there is anything in my life that is keeping me from being ready for Your full armor, train me and empower me to get ready for it. Since salvation provides me with the full armor of God, help me put it on as soon as possible.

After You Have Done This
Jesus, AFTER I have done everything to stand, empower me to stand firm then, with each item of Your full armor of God. As You take me on into the list of the full armor of God, instruct me concerning the importance of getting me, the warrior, ready for the armor. Show me that the full armor of God is only as good as the person wearing it. Since Your armor is worn by me as a person, it only does what I cause it to do. Help me to first “do what it takes” to stand. You have been teaching me how to “do what it takes” to win over those things that are wrong, bad, and evil. Now, help me take advantage of that teaching and power.

Now You Are Ready
Jesus, help me be on my guard; empower me to stand firm in the faith; let me be a person of courage; let me be strong (1 Cor 16:13). Get me ready for You to take me into a more in depth look at each item in the full armor of God. Help me see how vital all the training You have done in me is.
  • Be on your guard: Jesus, put me in a watchful condition that helps me wear the full armor of God with readiness. Show me that the armor is only in a ready position if I am in a ready position.
  • Stand firm in the faith: Jesus, give me a supernatural relationship with You. Reveal to me that the full armor of God is only supernatural if I have all my faith in You.
  • Be men of courage: Jesus, help me yield to the bravery that You put in my heart.
  • Be strong: Jesus, help me yield to the power that can constantly flow from You into me AND MY ARMOR.
Be On Your Guard!
1. Be On Your Guard By Running
I urge you, brothers, Jesus, let me properly respond to this urging. Let me WATCH OUT for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in my way that are contrary to the teaching You have empowered me to learn. And, help me to keep away from them (Rom 16:17). Since being on my guard is a process of me joining You, let me allow You to help me be looking for what kind of a person I am to be associating with. If they are divisive, argumentative, obstructive, and unbiblical, help me and my armor to get away from them. Empower me to keep away from them. You are telling me not to use my armor to fight them; let me RUN and go elsewhere. 1 Tim 6:11 (NIV) But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Jesus, if it is a place where I am to stand, help me stand. If it isn’t a place for me to stand, help me to run.

2. Be On Your Guard By Avoiding Certain Circumstances
Jesus, enhance my armor by You making me able to be always on the watch, and help me to pray that I may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and help me be ready so that I may be able to stand before the Son of Man (Luke 21:36). Since there are circumstances that I am to avoid, tell me WHO I am to avoid and tell me WHAT to avoid. I now pray that I may be able to escape all that is about to happen that is not good for me and my friends.

3. Be On Your Guard By Not Being Deceived
Jesus, help me watch out that I am not deceived. For many will come in Your name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The time is near.’ empower me to not follow them (Luke 21:8).” Jesus, I know my armor, You have given me, is designed to protect me from deception; but, help me always be aware that it only does what I allow it to do. Help me understand that I can’t just put it on and expect IT to watch for deception. Help me keep my dependency in You for pointing out WHERE I need to use it. Help me use my armor of God in the right places by telling me WHO to be with, WHAT to be involved with, and WHERE to go with it.

4. Be On Your Guard By Giving Protection To Your Friends
Jesus, help me keep watch over myself AND all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made me overseer. help me be a shepherd of the church of God, which He bought with His Own blood (Acts 20:28). Train me on how to expand my being on guard; help me expand it by not only watching over myself but also those who don’t have their armor on yet. Train me to also help protect those who aren’t very skilled in using theirs yet. Teach me that the way to do this is to allow You to help me see and understand things that others are going through. Keep me aware that my armor isn’t just to protect me; it is for protecting the new and untrained Christians around me as well.
