Jesus, sometimes I believe that things and people can make me happy and successful. However, help me realize that only the right person with the right character (the character like Jesus has) can help me with happiness. Only the right things will bring true success in my life and help me find real happiness that satisfies AND LASTS.

Jesus, You are and have all the characteristics that the people of this world need. If I am going to see improvements taking place in my life, and if I am going to be able to change my little area of my world in a positive direction, then show me that I am going to have to be changed by You first. You are able to give me the answers to my problems and to the questions I am struggling with.

Like the people You have already helped, let me find my life changing and improving in such a way that the people around me will be able to enjoy my company more and more. Let me find out how to deal with my finances, emotions, physical issues, and relationships by me being changed from the inside out. I won’t be trying to act like a nice person; You will empower me to BE a wonderful, nice, and successful person.

Jesus, help me keep in mind that some of my problems are coming from inside me; other problems are coming from the circumstances outside me; and still other problems are being caused by the people around me. If my life is going to get better, help me see that all of these issues need to be recognized by me and identified by You. You and Your Word, the Bible, are the answers to all my, my friends, and my world’s needs.

Jesus, start solving the issues of my life by starting with me. Sometimes it seems like I can’t do much about any of these things. Sometimes my own problems get so big and powerful that I feel like giving up on even trying to solve them. But, show me that the fact is, You will be able to give me power to overcome my personal problems. And, You will give me power to deal with the circumstances and relationships that are influencing me. Help me see that without this power, they will be too much for me to handle alone.

Jesus, help me understand that my personal problems are going to be USED by You to help me learn powerful principles. Show me that my problems help me see my need for Your help. Then when I turn to You for that help, You give me principles and power to win over them. As You help me with a problem, help me see that I learn principles that help me succeed in other areas of my life. Teaching me how to control many of the circumstances and influences of the people around me; and, Use my problems to teach and empower me to become the person I have always wanted to be.

Help me believe that I can be so changed in the way I live my life, that You will cause me to start moving away from bad people-influences and damaging circumstances. Help me move away from them and head toward those circumstances and people that have the potential to help me. You know who and what to AVOID; and, You know who and what to get involved in. I believe You can give me abilities that will test people and “opportunities” that come my way so I will know what to do.

Help me see that by being able to test and evaluate the things and people that are trying to get into my life, I will find myself in control of my future. Your philosophies, principles, strategies, and techniques are the perfect way for me and my friends succeeding at life. By You healing and training me, show me that You can make me the “right kind” of influence on those around me. If my life becomes so wonderful that I am filled with joy and excitement, it will impact many of my friends and associates.
