Jesus, help me understand that a lot of Christian educational systems deal with me learning things and that are important. But, I can get the impression that I have reached my goal once I learn a particular concept in God’s Word. Teach me that, that is only the beginning.

Jesus, show me that it wouldn’t do me much good to go to the grocery store and buy food, if I didn’t prepare it and eat it. Show me that in the same way it doesn’t do much good learning a powerful truth in the Bible if I don’t get it applied to my life. Help me always keep in mind that knowing the truth is just the first step to being set free. If I just know a truth and don’t let it work in that area of my life, I won’t be set free by it. And that would be sad!

Jesus, help me always be aware that You want me to be able to head in the direction that will be the very best for me. Show me that if I make up my mind to do something that would hurt me, You will let you do it. Make it clear to me that You allow me to be in charge of my life. But, I don’t REALLY want to hurt myself; I just think things will bless and help me that won’t. Help me understand that You will be teaching me what will bring the greatest success and happiness into my life.

Jesus, help me understand that You will be teaching and empowering me to focus my mind on those things that work. You know everything; You even knows what my future looks like. But, help me see that You have the power to change my future so as to make it the very best. Teach me that there are a lot of things I don’t know. If I am going to win at life, help me see that I am going to have to know the truth. You will help me see what things will hurt me in the long run and what will end up being wonderful.

Jesus, help me always be aware that You leave the final decision up to me; You never force Your will on me. If You can’t convince me to do the right things, I will end up going in a direction that will eventually hurt me. However, help me realize that in this course You will be trying to help me see what is good and what is bad for me. You will be showing me why some things are good and why others are bad.

Jesus, in this course You will be showing me all the advantages of Your way of life. Help me allow You to prove to me that Your way is the best way so You can show me what my future will be like. You will be training and empowering me to set my goals and make my plans for fulfilling this way of life. You will start helping me put Your way of life into my way of life.

In these courses, Jesus, help me understand that You will be showing me that You are the only One Who honors my God-given free will. People, my body, the devil, and life’s circumstances will be trying to force me in wrong, bad, and evil directions. Teach me that there is a serious battle that HAS to be fought in order for me to go the right, good, and righteous direction You and I want me to go.

Jesus, help me understand that You are going to be teaching me a VERY important spiritual procedure for taking control over my life’s destiny. There is a way for You and I to CREATE things in the spiritual realm. Through this creative power You and I will be able to change the wrong, bad, and evil things that are coming at me.

Jesus, reveal to me that You will be teaching me how to use the faith You speak into me for keeping my body, other people, the devil, and circumstances from messing up my life. Teach me that faith isn’t just something I believe; it is a power that makes things happen.

Jesus, it is amazing who I have trusted; even though I am extremely limited in my knowledge, understanding, and wisdom, I trust myself. Even though most people have their own best interests in mind, I trust them. Even though the world’s principles have failed me many times, I trust them. Help me when I get to this course to stop trusting the wrong things and help me start trusting those things that will help and give me the power to succeed in life.
