Jesus, since the wall is made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass, and since the foundations of the city walls are decorated with every kind of precious stone, and since the first foundation is jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, the fifth sardonyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst, and since the twelve gates are twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl, and since the great street of the city are of pure gold, like transparent glass (Rev 21:18-21), I can see what a beautiful thing You are making me a part of. Thank You for doing all it took to include me in Your plans for the future.

Jesus, since John did not see a temple in the city, because Lord God Almighty and You, the Lamb are its temple, and since the city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and You, the Lamb is its lamp, the nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. Since on no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there, and since the glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it, and since nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life (Rev 21:22-27), I am excited with this plan You have for my future.

Since God is preparing all of this for me in eternity, I believe that He is willing and able to heal me from the struggles I am having with guilt.

Jesus, take me with John as the angel showed him the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations (Rev 22:1-2). Give me a clear picture of it all so I can see the importance of really applying myself to all You want to teach me and empower me to do.

Jesus, I thank You that no longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of You, the Lamb will be in the city, and His servants will serve Him. They will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever (Rev 22:3-5). That is so exciting; I can see through this small glimpse that this is well worth the time, effort, and resources it takes.

I now see that this is a Kingdom that is based on generosity; no precious metals or gems that are exclusive; everything will be free. No rich people taking advantage of poor people; no poor people! Everyone will be wealthy; no hoarding; no stealing; no positions or power that puts others down. Giving will always be preferable to getting. No limit to all supplies; there will be so much of everything that no one will have to be concerned for more. No one will have to worry about doing without those things they need and want. That is the place where I want to spend my eternity!

Jesus, You are the King of the universe; You came to earth and set the Kingdom example. You gave, served, sacrificed, and loved; I now see that this is Who God is. God has a plan for me; but, I have a plan for me. Help me decide that God’s plan is better. The Bible is giving me a glimpse into the beauty of God’s Kingdom. He is generously sending out the invitation to me as a person who will agree to let Him deal with the spiritual disease that is in my life. I believe God would love to have me join Him in eternity. He just couldn’t let me in like I was. But, now that I have started trying Christianity out, it is helping me see how great it is.

I know that the pleasures of this current world are a lot of fun; and, that is all I have known on this planet. It is difficult for me to grasp many aspects of the Kingdom of God. But, I believe Jesus is talking to me and helping me to see the reality of His Kingdom. I can see the problems in the way I think, feel, talk, and act. As I look at myself, the society at large, the conditions of my government, and the direction things are heading, I can see God’s reasoning. Help me totally cooperate with all You need to do in me to get me ready for a perfect, eternal family and Kingdom.
