Psa 9:1 (NIV) For the director of music. To the tune of “The Death of the Son.” A psalm of David. I will praise You, O LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all Your wonders. I love You God. I praise You for all You are and all You do. I will tell everyone about all the wonders You have done. The miracles You have done in my life are so incredible. I thank You for doing so many supernatural things in my life and ministry. I want everyone to know about Your love and care. You are faithful to me every moment of every day.

Psa 9:2 (NIV) I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High. I am glad You are my God. I am glad You are the God of the universe. I am so excited with the decisions You have made as to Your character. I know You can be anything You want. I know You have all power and no one can make You be or do anything. Yet, with all Your freedom and power to be anything You choose, You have chosen to be so incredibly generous and loving. I am so glad and rejoice in the fact that You are the Most High. I love singing songs that praise You for all of these decisions You have made.

Psa 9:3 (NIV) My enemies turn back; they stumble and perish before You. With all the evil that would like to take control, You have exercised Your great power to keep them from taking over Your Kingdom and Your people. It is so wonderful that You are the most powerful. If it were not for You, evil would reign everywhere. The decisions Satan made exhibits what kind of god could be controlling us and the universe. But, You have chosen love, grace, and mercy; and, You are all powerful. So, Your decisions rule the universe. You have used Your power, wisdom, knowledge, and understanding to cause such a wonderful creation to come into being.

Psa 9:4 (NIV) For You have upheld my right and my cause; You have sat on Your throne, judging righteously. I and all the people are getting the benefits of Who You are. With Your grace and mercy, You have made the circumstances of my life work together for good. With Your control, You have made sure that no good cause goes neglected. With Your oversight, You have seen everything; nothing has escaped Your observation; no one is being failed by You. You keep righteousness flowing into my life.

Psa 9:5 (NIV) You have rebuked the nations and destroyed the wicked; You have blotted out their name for ever and ever. Evil people, nations, and philosophies rise and then are brought down by Your great care. I live in the benefits of mighty miracles You have worked throughout history. My life is an example of Your great love, grace, mercy, power, and blessings. I have so much to praise You for. If it hadn’t been for Your intervention, I would have already been destroyed. I would have lived a short life on this earth. I would have suffered greatly from being overwhelmed with wicked people. Instead, You have constantly stepped in and put a stop to all their plans and efforts. You are an awesome God!

Psa 9:6 (NIV) Endless ruin has overtaken the enemy, You have uprooted their cities; even the memory of them has perished. I see, through historical accounts, people and nations who have fallen because of Your great protection. Even those who are not serving You are benefiting from Your wonderful protection. If these enemies of righteousness had, had their way, this whole planet would be overrun with these enemies; but, You stopped them. You enabled people who respected Your justice to win over them. Throughout history You have uprooted their cities and destroyed their armies. Unfortunately, people have already forgotten Your achievements; they are failing to understand how different life would be if You hadn’t put a stop to these evil goals and philosophies.

Psa 9:7 (NIV) The LORD reigns forever; He has established His throne for judgment. I am so glad You are and will always be in charge. I am sure the universe and life as we know it would be so horrible without Your eternal reign. I am thrilled that it is Your throne that makes the verdict for the future of all mankind. I trust You to do perfectly in all judgments. Even though I didn’t get to choose You as the God of the universe. I now gladly choose You as the God of my life. If I had been able to pick what kind of god I would want controlling my universe and my life, I wouldn’t have had the wisdom to design Who You are. But, now that I see You, I am thrilled at the beauty of Your character and philosophies. Your heart is more wonderful than I can fathom.

Psa 9:8 (NIV) He will judge the world in righteousness; He will govern the people with justice. You are in control whether people want You to be or not. For those who reject You, I am glad that You govern them in righteous justice. Those who reject You live lives that would bring great distress to all those around them. You chose all the ways we ALL want to be treated; those who reject You also reject all You stand for. They reject You because they don’t love the things we ALL love. They don’t represent the goodness I enjoy. They would like to create a lifestyle that You and I hate. Your ways are the only way to run life, the world, and the universe. Your ways cannot be improved on.

Psa 9:9 (NIV) The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Lord, when You are giving the oppressors a short season to change their ways, You are always there to protect us from them. You provide us with a place to run and hide from their evil. It would be unbearable if we didn’t have You to protect us from them. I am glad You give them a time to repent. I am glad You are longsuffering with them. I am glad that You are gracious and merciful to every person. This is the only hell I am ever going to know. This may be the only heaven they will ever know. I want everyone to have a chance to change their minds and turn to You. Sometime these people make it extremely painful to live around them. But, it is worth it if it provides them with a complete opportunity to see their evil deeds, repent of them, and turn to You.

Psa 9:10 (NIV) Those who know Your name will trust in You, for You, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek You. Those who finally see how great You are will put their complete trust in You. Your kindness and longsuffering are a wonderful testimony to them of how great You are. And, the fact that You always protect those who have turned to You also gives them the message of Your love. I know it is a very tight balance between giving the wrong doers an adequate chance and protecting us from their evil. But, You are all wise and know how to maintain that perfect balance. I respect Your wisdom; I submit my life’s experiences with the unsaved into Your hands. You know what is best for me and them.

Psa 9:11 (NIV) Sing praises to the LORD, enthroned in Zion; proclaim among the nations what He has done. Lord, help me to sing, proclaim, and testify to the nations. Help me tell them all about Your greatness. Let Your praises flood out of my mouth like a great river. Let Your awesome greatness be made known by every person who loves You. Help all of us spread Your miracles and wonders around the world. Let the whole world know that You are the only One worthy of ruling our lives, the earth, and the universe. There is no one like You. You alone have the character that we need to be in charge.

Psa 9:12 (NIV) For He Who avenges blood remembers; He does not ignore the cry of the afflicted. Avenging belongs to You. I trust You to bring justice to all situations. No one is wise enough to make these decisions. I lay my circumstances, relationships, and possessions at Your feet. Use me and all I have to be Your help to the suffering and afflicted. Let me be Your hands of love and power to touch their lives so they can feel Your care. Let Your care so come to them that they are able to give up all desires for getting revenge. Help us all to put the evil doers in Your hands for You to decide their destiny.

Psa 9:15 (NIV) The nations have fallen into the pit they have dug; their feet are caught in the net they have hidden. Thank You for stopping those nations who have devoted themselves to enslaving humans under their rule. Thank You for resisting those nations who decided to try to take freedom from the earth. Thank You for keeping the national boundaries open so we, who serve You, can go around the world telling everyone about You and Your greatness. Thank You for taking all their leaders and subjecting them to Your plans.

Those who have taken leadership positions have relinquished their rights to doing what they choose. Their freedom of will is limited to their own decision of what they are going to do with Your Son, Christ Jesus. Their heart is in Your hands. They must do what You desire. They must lead according to Your plans. Bring down all who resist You and Your message. Let me and all those who serve You go into all the world and make disciples of all nations.

Psa 9:16 (NIV) The LORD is known by His justice; the wicked are ensnared by the work of their hands. Higgaion (change to this music style). Selah (pause and meditate on this). Lord, let Your justice reign in all the earth. Let those who resist the Truth by their wickedness, fall into the traps they have devised for others. Bring them down so that they are no longer able to stop Your Truth from being proclaimed all over the earth.

Psa 9:17 (NIV) The wicked return to the grave, all the nations that forget God. I pray for the nations that have forgotten You. Let the wicked leaders go to the grave who are being used by Satan. Let the enslaved nations be delivered from evil leadership. Open their gates and let Your greatness flood into the nations. Let Your people be mightily used by You to show forth Your great love, power, grace, mercy, and provisions. Let all the earth lift up its voice in great praise of Your Name. Let the wicked fall; let the righteous shine like the noon day sun; let Your glory fill all the earth.

Psa 9:18 (NIV) But the needy will not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the afflicted ever perish. O mighty God, there are so many who are suffering and dying. Please allow me and all who are willing to go to them. Help us to reach them with all You have to offer. I commit myself to be the body that You can use to do Your will in their lives. You will not forget the needs of the needy. I know Your greatness; I know You are their answer; I know You love them with an undying love; I know it isn’t a problem with You; I know it is a problem with me. I say yes to Your response to the hope of the afflicted. I am Yours to use to do all Your will in all their lives. I only have me to give; and, I say yes to You.

Psa 9:19 (NIV) Arise, O LORD, let not man triumph; let the nations be judged in Your presence. God, You know that there is a massive effort by Satan to use technology to spread his lies to the nations. I know You know that the people on this planet are being flooded with messages that approve sin; don’t let these men win. Destroy those areas of each nation that have devoted themselves to the spreading of sin. Bring down all these people and areas in all nations who are ministers of sin before Your presence. Judge them with Your great wrath.

Psa 9:20 (NIV) Strike them with terror, O LORD; let the nations know they are but men. Selah (pause and meditate on this). Bring terror to those who will not repent. Reprove those who have bought into sin but want to serve You. Destroy those who will not repent. Transform those who have been addicted to sin and will turn to You. Prepare the hearts of all who would accept You, if given a chance. Send Your people forth to proclaim Your Truth to every person all over the earth.
